Angel to get spayed on Thursday
 
Hi,
Just wanted some extra prayers and warm wishes sent our way.
Angel is going to get spayed on Thursday 3/15. I will drop her off at 7:30 am and pick her up at 4:00.
She will be the first patient of the day. Angel is 7.5 mo and 2.8 lbs.
She is getting some baby teeth pulled and microchipped.
I am just a bit nervous because she is so tiny, but my vet is great and has all the newest equiptment.
I am going to get her some onsies tommorow, anyone know where to get premie ones?

There is cheap premature baby clothing at K-Mart.
I buy them and then modify the belly side for the Yorkies just so it's not dragging and it just might for your petite kid.

She'll be fine, but understandably you're nervous.
I won't go into my opinions of spay/neuter at a young age, because that's not what this thread is about, but I do want you to know that it's great that you're getting her disiduous teeth removed at the same time, she must not have very many to pull.

My thoughts are w/ you and your little one this week! :aimeeyork

My granddaughter's mom and dad are not sure they want to get their new Yorkie baby spayed. I definitely think she should be spayed. I'd like to know your thoughts on spaying, at what age, etc. I have Bichons and it is recommended that the females be spayed at about 5 or 6 months, before they have a season. You will be in our thoughts and prayers Angel! :) Don't worry, Peanut is only 3 pounds and was spayed and had a teeth cleaning and extraction last year...I was soooo worried, but she did just fine!! :thumbup:

I definitely understand your feeling.
I just posted similar thread.
My Momiji is 6 1/2 month and only weight 2.5 lbs so I am worried.
I'll probably get her spayed in few weeks.

Thank you, I had Bailey spayed at 6 mo, she was 3 lbs but her build is bigger then Angels. My vet likes to spay them before thier first heat. Angel has 8 baby teeth to be pulled, her breath is more then we can tolerate...

I am making myself sick over this, I know she needs to have it done. I love our vet and her staff, they will take extremely good care of Angel.....but I am just so worried about her. She is just so tiny!

awwww I know this must be so hard for you. I understand, because I myself have not done for the same reason as you. I will be going thru this in the next few month, cause I know it has to be done. I'll be praying for You and Angel.

Good wishes are being sent your way! She will be fine mom! I know how incredibly nerve wracking it is, trust me! I am a worry wart....

Mim's is having her operation next Thursday, I hope you feel well and please let us know how you are feeling after you are able to post a note to me. I am kinda scared I am small too.:aimeeyork :thumbup:

Sending prayers and extra warm wishes your way for Angel. I understand how you feel and how worried you are. If you trust your vet, then i am sure all will be ok. AprilLove was small too, (she had just hit 3 lbs at 7 months and very small body), when I had her spayed, and I was feeling exactly how you are now. No matter what everyone says to ease your mind, you will still worry;) and that is natural and OK to do. Just think about how good it will feel when the vet calls you to tell you little Angel is out of surgery and all went well!! Big hugs and prayers coming from me and AprilLove for you and Angel. :hands: :ghug:

Sending lots of good wishes Angels way.......I had Brandi spayed 2 weeks ago tomorrow and I was a wreck......and everything turned out just fine.......the important thing is that you love and trust your vet.....just depend on everyone here for support when she comes home......they were FANTASTIC when I was freaking out

Hello!
We are home from the vets, it was a very long day.
Angel was spayed today, her incision is very small about 1/2 inch long.
She had to have 8 teeth pulled..ouch..the vet said it is good I didn't wait any longer. Her baby molars were loose, just didn't want to come out, so food was being caught under them, making her breath unbearable!
She had blood work which came out fine, her potasium is a bit high, we will retest her in a couple months.She was also microchipped today.
They forgot her 3rd set of vacinations so we will do those in a couple of weeks.(no charge) Our vet is so great! They called me updating me all day on Angel's progress.:)
Angel is sleepy, she came home drank some water, had 2 bites of food and fell asleep in her bed.
She will be on antibiotics for a week.
Thank goodness that is over! Bailey is trying to mother Angel and Angel wants to sleep, I tried putting Bailey up with my daughter but she cried wanting to be by Angel. Hopefully she will settle down soon.
I have premie t shirts in the wash, (Babies r us carries them) I'll get those on soon so her incision doesn't get licked! :(

Brandi never neededt he onesies.....she never licked her incision or touched her stitches......you can just keep an eye on Angel......I'm glad she's home safe and sound with her mommy

Thank you.

Angel is a licker but Bailey acts like a mother hen and she is always licking poor Angel. :p
She tried to lick her tummy already to make Angel feel better, so when she starts running around a bit more I will put one on her. Bailey will not leave Angel's side, she must know she doesn't feel well.
