Not a dog person... I have a confession to make...:wink2: Before I got Chloe, I really was not a dog person. Actually, as a kid, I was afraid of dogs (mostly big dogs.) In fact, when I was deciding whether or not to make the leap and get a yorkie, I was almost talked out of it by my aunt who told me I was "not a dog person." We used to own cats before we had kids, but my oldest is allergic, so we could not have cats anymore. I wanted a dog mostly because, now that I had recently finished school (got my BA in English Literature...yay!), I needed a new "something" in my life. Well, having Chloe has totally made me a dog person! I not only am interested in my own dog, I like meeting other dog owners and their dogs, talking about our dogs. I have found that I have so much in common with other dog owners, and how easy it is to make new friends when you have a dog with you. People with dogs seem to gravitate towards each other, asking questions about each other's dog, things like that. There is a whole other world out there full of people who "get it" when it comes to dogs, and now I feel like I am a part of that world. So, I have to admit, that this was the right move for me at this time in my life. And I think my life is more enriched because of it. Anyone else feel the same way? |
I definitely wasn't a dog person before I got Summerlin. I still don't like big dogs, or dogs that slobber all over me, but I love Summerlin to death. I have found that Summerlin has kind of helped draw me out of my shell, I am not as afraid to talk to new people and I tend to laugh a lot more... She has definitely improved my life :) |
For sure. I always thought I was a cat person and dogs were stinky and slobbery. :D Then I got a Yorkie and I joined the cult of obsessed dog lover. |
I have always been a dog person. Ive even rubbed off on my newest bestest friend... She is a dog lover now! |
wow! that sounds exactly like my story!! When I told my sister I was getting a dog, she said, "But Alison, we're CAT people..." But guess what.??...since I got Edie, the whole family loves her. They tell me all the time how they never thought they could love a dog like they do Edie. She has transformed a whole family. |
Yorkies are Dogs:eek: I am outraged:mad: I was never told this:confused: I feel silly:rolleyes: ;) :p :D |
I have always loved dogs In my life I have always loved dogs. However, I was young and well not wanting to be tied down. As I have aged I have and intense love for them. When I got my first Yorkie I felt as if she did not bond with me. I laugh now because we are so close. As I write this I get emotional, there was this huge loss in my life and my animals filled it. See they give us something that no one else can give not just unconditional love but love. Love that four letter word that makes our hearts beat faster or scares us but they just give it. They forgive they are not judgemental. I look at Princess and see love or my other Yorkies and see enjoyment. I know that people say that a dog is just a dog and don't do this or that but when your heart says other wise you know that this gift is a life and no matter what you chose to do with it in a loving way you cannot love it to death. When I had my daughter I was always in the baby isle she is bigger now so I am always in the dog isle or clothing or on line. I am grateful to God that animals were part of the bigger picture and come what may I chose to love them in my way,and that is I can't love them to death.....:animal36 |
