Norkie!! I saw the Norwich terrier on the Eukanuba tournament or champions yesterday, so I googled to see what the puppies looked like... and I found a "Norkie." She is so freaking cute! http://www.nextdaypets.com/directory...0e7d-b1c1.aspx I'm not ready for another wuppy (and that one looked a little..sad), but I would LOVE to see some more Norkies in the future! I love her color...look at those little white toes! |
she is a cutie! |
She looks like a little fox...... |
She is pretty, but did you see the price.... |
The price is ASSININE for a mixed breed and an accident to boot. However, she's still FREAKIN' ADORABLE!!! And it's kinda nice that she's offering a one year health guarantee...it'd be interesting to see what the stipulations on that guarantee are though. |
Why would anyone pay 1500 for a mixed breed? Frankly, I don't understand the fascination for "designer breeds". They're still mixed. I buy purebreds because I know, within reason, what I'm going to get sizewise, cost wise, and personality wise. I adopted my mixed from a shelter. There are plenty of mixed breeds that need saving and I wouldn't pay that kind of money when I can save an abandoned dog. |
All of our purebreds today were given a chance in the past when they were still being mixed from mutts to create our purebreds that we've come to know. HOWEVER, even back in the day, people didn't pay big bucks for those first few generations until there was at least an established phenotype and thus the "purebred" was born. So, that arguement (I received in an e-mail) isn't a valid one. Purebreds fetch the kind of money today because they, for the most part, have a higher percentage to be a "known quantity". You have a better idea as to what you're going to be getting at maturity. |
