Having a hard time.. Words of encouragement might help A lot of you know my yorkie of over 8 years went missing Oct 2006 and still has not been found. My mom financed her for me back in 98 when she was a puppy was over 1,000 for her. She ended up having the knee issues so those were fixed and she was fixed in the process. We got her as a family dog. My daughter of 3 missing her terribly. I finally got my husband ready to try again. I've been told this will help us with our healing. However i can't spend 1,000 for one. I don't have to have papers this will be a family dog. I have called shelters in northern kentucky and southern Ohio. I was looking at that one yorkie for free in the adoption section. User hasn't been online. I told them I was willing to drive almost 5 hours to get him. I've applied for a puppy which will not be ready till april 7th. I havent heard anything back. I've checked petfinder.com over and over. My husband would kill me if I spent over 100.00 for a dog. A lot of the dogs im finding are a no due to having a 3 year old daughter. I found this really cute yorkie named Benji but he doesnt like small children. Just getting discouraged I guess. I look at all the cute pics on here. Its hard.. I'm really taken to this site. I have learned more and with losing my little girl Snickers if we found another I know to do the micro chip and then some. Anymore tips or ideas to help my family and I out? I really dont wanna go with a different breed. Thanks everyone! |
I wish I could help you out. Good luck in your search! |
I remember your post. I'm so sorry you never got her back. Just don't give up hope and I'm sure if you continue your quest you'll find that magical little yorkie that fits both your budget and your family. |

im so saddened, but never give up hope,.. good luck sweetie |
I'd just start saving for a new yorkie. Start with the $100 that your husband would be comfortable spending then save your change and your bottle deposits. A little here and a little there...eventually you'll have something more reasonable. It's really unreasonable to think you'll find one for $100 or less and I don't want you to give up. Your husband can't complain about how much you spend on a dog if you save up. It took me over a decade to be able to afford mine so I definately know what you're going through. A yorkie mix might even be more in your price range. 3 year olds are kind of rough on animals, so as you save your child will get older and you won't have to worry. Even an extra year will improve how she will be around a small puppy. Good luck in your search. |
oh kitteN - i can only imagine your pain. i have only had romeo for two days and i don't want him out of my sight for a moment. if you lived closer i would have given you the name of a lady here in Mississippi that was selling her yorkies - with papers!! - $700 for the girls and $600 for the boys! she is the sweetiest little white-haired old lady that was not out to make big bucks by charging big money for her puppies. she said she just wanted a fair price and good homes for them - nothing more. yes she knew she could get much more for them but she was not in it for the money. i hope things work out for you and that you get your puppy soon.:) don't give up!!! |
