Question for those who use belly bands
 
Looks like my little monsters are going to be living in their belly bands. What have you found to be the best pad to use? I hate to leave the same pad on all day while I'm at work, but I guess they sleep most of the day anyway, right. I may have to start running home at lunch to change their diapers.:D I'm made them several bands; all colors and prints.:) When I'm at home I've been using the equate brand from Walmart, but I know I need something more absorbent for longer periods of time. Whats your favorite pad??

I usually use the store brand pads but I also like stayfree (thick pads). Mine are not allowed to have free run of the house while I'm at work. Since I keep them in a area I leave pads down for them and Timmy does great so I don't have to leave a belly band on him. I live about 30 mins from work so I can't go home to change his pad. :( I heard Poise pads are great too.

My boys are house trained, but being stud dogs, they do enjoy marking their territory. So, they are kept in belly bands too. I've found Poise Plus napkins to be the best. They're large enough that you can cut them in half, they keep the moisture away. I do change them often and wipe the boys off with each change.

You can purchase them at Costco, Sams, and WalMart

We just use any brand of non-scented, no wings, most super absorbent maxi pads we can find. We usually use Krogers grocery store brand. Rarely will they leak onto the band. Biscuit hates his pampers (that's what we call them:D ), but they are necessary during the day while we are at work. It would be great if you could come home and change them during the day. I always worry about UTI's but, I clean his area if he has an accident and he has been fine so far.

I have had problems with the sanitary pads being too long. When they get soaked (if I am gone very long) they get their hair wet and stinky all the way up on their back. So, what I have done is bought some nursing pads (for breast feeding) and put them on top of the maxi pads. This helps some to keep the pee all in the same spot on their belly area, but the maxi is underneath so if it gets really wet there it can take the overflow. It works pretty good, but I wish the nursing pads held more. It just really bugs me to have my boys get so stinky on their hair, I even cut my beautiful long haired boy down for this reason. Anyone know of a smaller thicker pad? I am working on something to help with this by modifying belly bands, but haven't had time (because of work) to actually try it yet. I will let everyone know when I do, though, because I think it will work. But in the meantime I remain in search of a smaller more absorbent pad.

I cut them in half, not length wise and they are huge.....never have a problem with leaking, they are super absorbent. I usually buy them in the economy box....several packages in a box, for 2 stud dogs they last me about 5 months.

I tried the Poise the last time and I wasn't thrilled with them. I figured since they are made for people with bladder issues they'd be better then pads. But they reeked and they made Alphy reek. I think once they get wet they emit an awful odor so someone knows to come change granny... (no offense) I just use the super store brand pads, sometimes with wings. The wings keep the edges of his band dry.
