Do you have 2 females and .. Do they get along? I have heard that 2 females are harder to get along than 2 males. Just wanted your take on this. |
Mine do but it took a good 5 weeks for my 3 yr old to get used to the new puppy! But they play and even started sleeping together now. I've had the puppy for almost 3 months now.... |
I don't think it really matters whether they are male or female whether they get along or not. Neutured pets get along better!! And of course their individual personalities play a role in it. |
I think if they are both spayed they will do fine. I've had two females before and they were best friends. |
My two girls for the most part get along..except during heat..they will get into it..but, that problem will be fixed in a few months |
We've only had Milli a few weeks, but she and Emma play well-but they growl and bark and carry on, and "pretend" they don't like each other, but then they end up snuggled up together, and Emma watches out for Milli, and protects her from other dogs and people. It's very nice to see them getting along so well :) |
Zada and Azrael are first cousins and are only about 5 weeks different in age and they have NEVER so much as growled at each other in anger. I've never even seen them upset. They are always playing with each other or us and are always so happy. I don't think it really matters what sex you have. They will either get along or both wanting to be alpha. |
I agree that personality is a huge part of it no matter if they are spayed or not. My two Doxie girls both wanted to be the boss of each other and yes they did fight it out. Even now my oldest Doxie still has to put the 2 year old in check every now and then. With these two girls I will not and can not get another overly dominant female. |

my 2 females get along. They sometimes play a little rough. But they are the same size right now, which is cute to see em play. My male is a bit bigger than them and when he gets too rough I have to break it all up. But they all sleep laying on eachother when it's nap time. Other than that, at bedtime, they sleep in diff crates. |
both my girls get along fine and nether one of them are fixed. My bunny was almost a yr old when I got my bella. Bunny took to her right away. She dose not care to much about sharing mommy at 1st but now she has some one to take treats from....So now she can eat hers and then take Bellas :p Bella is now 1 and Bunny is 2 and there best of friends... Well minus the whole sharing thing... but what sis share anything, any how...RIght? |
I only have one yorkie, Harley and he's a male. But I have 5 other mixed dogs. 2 females and 4 males total and everybody gets along pretty well. It's actually Harley who starts most fights. |
2 Attachment(s) I have 2 girls....Chanel pouted for about 2 months when we first got Cheri but once Cheri got big enough to play ....Chanel now LOVES her. They kiss...or I should say they MAKE OUT All the time...it's so sweet I never get tired of seeing it here's just a couple of shots from when Cheri was little.....I have tons more but don't want to bore people.....Chanel is a toy hog so the only time they have 'issues' is if Cheri sneaks one of her favorites lol |
I have 3 female and 1 male -- they all get along. My older dog is a dachshund and she plays with the others only at her invitation. But the other 3 are like best buddies. They will all eat out of the same bowl. I bought them new matching bowls, put out all 4 bowls and they crowd around one anyway. So, it was back to the glass pie plate. The 3 younger ones will all sleep together. Kate likes to sleep alone but occasionally she just gives up and lets one of the others share her pillow bed. I could not ask for any better compatibility. |
fighting dogs! My 3 boys fight all the time but 2 of my girls get alonf just fine. My oldest is a girl and she just tolerates the rest of them. So guess it just depends on their personality. |
