My yorkie's hair color is changing to white!! Does anyone know why my Yorkie's hair is turning white?? |
All Yorkies are born black with maybe a tinge of the brown showing. As they get older you will see the black growing out and exposing a red, blond or silver color underneath. Some do get silver, while others are redish, brownish or blond. |
Are you sure it's white or more like light silver? Post a picture......... |

They do change.. Pepper was pitch black and dark brown till 3 months of age or so, then light gray started growing at the roots, first head then the rest of the body. It did look white, esp at chest and some parts of legs. Now he's getting a little darker, his face is rich brown, head is light blond and the rest of the body steel gray. I read Yorkies coat changes up to 2 years of age. |

When I first got Miss Q the roots of the hair on her head were white. As time is going by they are changing from white to pale blonde to a richer tan and I doubt it's done changing. So I'm pretty sure he/she may change as well. |
lexi had white roots too ,i was so nervous i didnt know what was going on, but now shes a beautiful color just look for yourself |
Uh huh...'Bacca's hair was really silvery grey at the roots too. My brother kept telling him he had blonde roots! |
one of my yorkie's hair is blonde and silver/grey. It's not a standard color but it's pretty common. I've seen several yorkies in our playgroup with the same coloring. |
