Need pet safe snail bait? Does anyone know of a pet safe snale bait that is good for indoors and outdoors? Our garden is infested with snails. We went to home depot this weekend and were recommend a brand....the safest they had was something that we were told won't kill little Zoe Brooklyn but could make her really sick   Are you kidding me? I don't want her in ER, especially when she is home alone, she likes to snoop, sniff, and lick anything. Anyways, I would love to know of any non-toxic natural items I can use? Maybe I should lay salt ALL over the garden and indoor pots lol. Salt is safe right? :p Jennie |
Hi, Yes, salt will work but it can also kill your plants if it is too close. I do know that snails like beer :grin2: ......... yep, go figure.... You put the beer in a low sided pan and they will come to it and drown :tongue008 . I'd still keep my baby out of it but if it gets into the beer at least it is not poison. Good luck! Cyndi |
Growing Success Advanced Slug and Snail Killer is a truly advanced Killer because it is the only completely safe blue pellet that will only kill slugs and snails, and will not harm children, pets, birds, animals or wildlife etc. This product has already enjoyed overwhelming success in Europe and America. SUITABLE FOR ORGANIC GARDENING It is completely safe and will only kill slugs and snails. Because it contains no poison, there can be no secondary poisoning of birds or hedgehogs etc. that may eat the pellets. So why aren't more people using them? Find them at the link below. http://www.growingsuccess.org.uk/det..._Snail_Control |
I use the beer for slugs in the garden. It is pretty gross picking up the beer drowned slugs. |
thanks everyone....I'll try the beer in some areas, and the growing success in the others. I'm with you Patti, on the dead slugs floating, hubby will have to handle that, I have a weak stomach and can't fathom killing or seeing anything dead. It makes the hair on my body stand up just thinking about it but they are so pesky, eating my orchid flower bulbs, errr!!! |
