Tear stains on Biewers and partis
 
Does anyone use Eye Envy for tear stains? Does it Work? What elses is used? I've read hydrogen peroxide. Has anyone tried that?

I forget what I used on Jack (Maltese) I'll look it up. Did your babies make the flight ok?

Most that stuff doesn't work. While your babies are young and teething they will have staining almost no matter what you do. Just wash their faces everyday and try to keep them dry (you can use a little cornstarch to help with that). If they still have staining when they are older you can try angel eyes, I have seen awesome results on the maltese boards from users.

Peroxide does help to lighten the staining just a bit, but remember that it is actually damaging the hair and unfortunately making it more susceptible to even more staining because of this.

Yes thank you the flight went fine. Continental has a flight tracker site so I was able to watch the progress. They were about 45 minuts late getting into Omasha. But they took it real well. They didn't even seem frightened, I guess cause that had each other , I think the held hands. LOL

I'm trying to get more pictures, but they are just soooooo busy, and when I walk into the kitchen the are at my feet.

Here are a couple I took when they were worn out and had discovered the nice beds.

Hallie, the one with more white weighs 3# 5oz and Harlie the one with the black belt, weighs 2# 8.4 oz

I'll post this in My Yorkie also.

For the 1st year nothing worked. Finally after Misha was 15 months the Vet put her on Tilan for tear staining. Can't do that when they are puppies.
I tried everything. No dyes in food. Distilled water. Even had the vet check for clogged tear ducts. Some breeds just stain. I've tried every brand out there for tear staining. Nothing worked completely. I didn't do peroxide, cause it does damage the hair. Good luck.
By the way, they are so cute.

Awwwww, they are SO Cute:D I used to use Angels Eyes on my babies, then I read the ingredients. All it is is freeze dried beef liver, ground into a powder:laugh: You can get the Pro Treat liver treats and just give a little piece of that once a day. I don't know how it works, but it does:thumbup: :thumbup:

Thanks I'll try that.

I've been reading a lot about it and have read everything from change in diet to using vinegar to change the PH in their system. some suggest it is from the die in the dog food.

But there must be something that works because the Maltese show dogs don't have the stains.

Maybe I should ask on a Maltese forum

Actually it also contains the antibiotic tylan that is said to be the key ingredient that makes it work. You can get just the straight tylan powder to get the same results but I don't think it tastes to yummy for them.

We have a Yorkie (Harley) and his tear stains do not show up so we just never really worried about it. However, once we got Bailey (our Maltese/Bichon mix) he had horrible tear stains. We bought Eye Envy and it was just so-so....I, personally, would not buy it again because it wasn't that great. What we found to work is an all natural dog food and it is great! It is called, Nature's Variety and ours eat the Chicken Meal & Brown Rice. It was recommended by others that had problems with the stains. I was told it works and it does! :)

Also, the stains are worse while they are teething.

i use the hydrogen peroxide on austin but hes a chihuahua so he has different hair its the only thing that does work since his hair is short around his eyes i dont worry and it ruining the hair

I use Eye Envy on Chanel who is a yorkie - and it works.

I have a problem with tear stains as well...:( . The vet flushed Pepper's tearducts but it didn't help. What is that Tilan medicine? If it's antibiotic, doesn't it stop working once you stop treatment? Or you do it and it takes care of the staining once and for all? I think I'll try the Angel Eyes first, hope it will work.
