Yorkie Climbs Tress My 2-year old yorkie climbs trees to try to get to squirrels. He climbs about 6ft high. He also has begun to climb our six foot fence and is almost at the top. When he is outside he will sit for hours and stare up into the trees, and when he is inside he stares out the windows for hours. Not sure what to do with him. I have three yorkies and he is my middle one. Possible middle child syndrome? This yorkie and my oldest are males that weigh about 10 pounds, but my tree climber is tall. My baby yorkie murphy weighs 4 1/2. Anyone else with this problem? |
no , and thank god for that. no trees where i live.. just be careful. |
That is so unusual...........I agree, be very careful with him. |
Brissy has some bad habits, too. (digging ect). I was advised to do the coins in a can trick. Wash out a can and place a few coins in it and tape it up. Shake it at the behavior. Sounds like your little one is fixated on squirrels so I don't know if this will work or not. Worth a try though. |
wow thats scary:( |
that is strange..put blankets all around the tree..no, i dont know about that one...try to get one of those guard things....duh, that sounds smart. there are plastic guards you can wrap around the bottoms (they use them for cats i think) and then he cant get up into the tree, his paws will slip when he tries to climb. |
Wow that is scary. I would put up some material on then fenceline and around the trees so he cant climb up |
