Pet Friendly!!!! I live in Pensacola, FL about 25 minutes from the beaches and I'm trying to find a house / condo or something on the beach to stay at for about a week this summer and NOBODY IS PET FRIENDLY!!! WHAT IS UP??? Just thought I would gripe  |
Have you checked with the realtors in your area? Sometimes they can help with that information. Also, we lived in Ocala last year and I picked up a little magazine type book that was nothing but pet information. If I remember right I think I got it in the racks at restaurants and grocery stores where you pick up the coupon books. I thought the rules changed after all the hurricaines and hotels had to start taking pets now? |
thanks for the info. out of all the hotel/motels on the beach, 1 is pet friendly... and of course have no vacancies... i really would like to get a house though but every where you look.. NO PETS!... like you should be ashamed to think you can bring you dog! pets arent even allowed on the beach! |
You could post an ad on craigslist.com in the area you are interested in under vacation rentals. It's free. Just include in the ad that you have a pet so you don't waste your time with non pet friendly responses. |
A lot of beaches (at least the ones I am familiar with/have visited) aren't dog friendly during the summer. Have you tried Google for help? |
go to www.vrbo.com Click on the state and then city that you are wanting to visit, and all the available rentals by owners will be listed there. I think this will be your best bet. There is a little doggie paw or something like that by the rentals that accept pets. This should help, I hope :) Good luck! |
I just did a quick search for you for that area, and it looks like there are some options. |
thanks! |

If you want to go somewhere other than Pensacola, there are tons of pet friendly homes on St George Island. Also, here is one in Panama City http://www.findvacationrentals.com/3257 |

Try Gulf Shores or Orange Beach -- here are some: http://www.gulfrentals.com/pets.htm I am over in Santa Rosa County -- hello neighbor! I wanted to rent a place for Spring break but it looks like my son has baseball everyday. So, we would not be able to spend much time there. ;( |
You might have a better time in a more pet-friendly town. Perhaps you can find a spot that has a number of places that allow pets and that at least allows dogs on the beach at night. I find that if I take Max to a pet-friendly town, there are dog water bowls outside of the shops, they let you in with your animal, etc. It's a nice experience. Brooklyn is actually very pet-friendly. No water bowls outside, but most of the stores allow Max in as long as I hold him and the beaches are open to dogs at night. We have several pet-friendly bar/clubs which I have to visit. I'm not advising Brooklyn for your vacation, but it makes life much more pleasant and easier for me. Have a great vacation, Judy |
