I don't even have to say no "the look" is all they need. If my dad gives me "the look," i still stop what i'm doing. |
They sure do! Two of them know "leave it." That is very helpful, for instance if you drop something (like meds) that they can't have, you say "leave it!," and they don't touch it. I still have to teach that one to my puppy. All you do is sit on the floor with treats. You put down a treat and when they go after it, say "leave it." When they leave it and make eye contact with you, praise them and give them a treat from your hand. (not the one on the floor) You can start with one treat on the floor and add some more as you progress. They learn it so fast! It's nice to have something different than NO all the time. :D |

What an excellent idea! We are going to start working on that one! |

Yes she does. She knew it the day we got her. She is so incredibly obedient! Faith, my other non-Yorkie fur-baby, occasionally thinks "no" means "Okay, try again in five minutes when her back is turned". Then I give her the "look" and she stops totally. |
If I say no to him he thinks I'm playing. |
He knows what "No" means, however its a matter of whether or not he wants to actually listen to what I tell him or not. |
Skippy knows what no means. He'll put his little ears down, and come over to see if I'm really mad. It's so funny. |
Doesn't matter which tone of voice I use...firm tone or gentle tone, they know what NO means! |

Ever since they were about 8 to 9 weeks all of my dogs know what the word "No" means. |
morgan knows 'no', and she also knows 'at' and 'oi!' usually when she gets yelled at and i walk towards her she runs into her house and hides LOL she'll usually listen tho before i have to actually get up and remove her from what shes doing unless we're in the kitchen and someone has food that she wants |
Tetley is very good at obeying "no" as well as a warning "heeeeyyyyy..." He'll be practicing 'leave it' in class next week. :) |
Yes, Pip knows what it means and obeys 'most' of the time, . Sometimes I growl at her when she's getting a bit too rough with her play, and that works well as a warning, instead of saying no all the time. All in all, she's really a good baby for 7 months, and after reading some of the posts here on the forum, I definitely know how lucky I am that's she such a good girl!:p |
