thos with 2 or more babies... how do you know when they are playing and when they are not getting a long. Troy is the smaller of the 2 and at first she would let Walker rough her up. now she is the aggressor and goes after him. but i can't tell when they are playing or not. cause they don't really make noises when they are playing, they kind of do that little growl thing. but sometimes it will get loud and i'll separate them. but then they go right back to playing and growling. so how do i know when its play and when someone is pissed? |
I know what you mean. Pixie my new 13 month old tiny beats up on laid back Cali all the time. Just when I think she is killing her, Cali runs back over to her for more. |
Speaking for experience your babies are just playing. When they are fighting you will know it. They both will have very, very, very loud mean growls and will be baring teeth. Sometimes the hair on both of their back with stand up. I wouldn't get too involved as long as they are not being mean. They are mostly fighting for pack position and will continue this behavior until the pecking order is settled. Then it will get to the regular playing.......which is pretty much the same, LOL. |
YES! they look like they are being annoyed but as soon as one stops they other goes after them!!! i guess as long as theres no blood i shouldn't worry.:D |
Intresting, my two do the same thing. I'm glad to know it's just play. Sometimes it really stresses me out  :D |
I havent ever seen my dogs angry growling at each other to know the difference. They have lightly growled when Chachi is bossing Jewels around or sometimes when one is laying somewhere where the other one wants to. I think as long as its not snarling and showing their teeth you are okay |
Believe me you WILL know when the are fighting. My two females Jilly and Kenzi did not like each other at first when we introduced them. They are both the same age and we brought Kenzi in when they were both 10 months old. I have had to step in on numerous occassions to break them up. But then they will start playing. The fighting usually only erupts when toys are involved. |
