Advice needed! I have posted before about bella's non stop crying. well we have been to 2 vets. The crying hasnt stopped!!! we had her fecal tested, her ears for infection, and we r trying to get fleas under control(she only has one right now but i still see it biting her). all that came up negative. They now say they want to do a urine analysis, blood work, and take xrays to make sure everything is fine with her spine and organs!! the total estimate for these 3 things was $360!!!! OMG..so expensive. so i called my insurance (I have VPI) and asked if it would be covered and they said that if nothing showed up as wrong it probably wouldnt be covered!! what do i do???? The vet said she thinks it is behavoiral and gave me the number to a guy that helps and said maybe she should be put on anti anxiety medicine!! i found that strange. can anyone offer some advice please?? i dont know what to do!! |
Also, if anyone has any ideas of what else the vet should test for i would reallly appreciate it!!!!!:) |
Honestly I would get the test done first. What if she does have some problem the waiting may be making it worse. It would be worth the money to me just to know. If you can't afford them maybe you could do one test at a time. |

Not to worry you even more, but just something that I went through... My Lexxi didn't cry non stop, but occassionaly she would make the most blood curdling howl like she was in pain and I'd rush her in! I had every test done you could think of....they'd find nothing. Finally they referred us to a neurologist and thats where we found our answer. It was very expensive to do the recommended MRI but even prior to that, the neuro took one look at her and her behavior and "guessed" what was wrong with her-he was right. Point is, dont give up...I think the tests are important to narrow things down for her. Keep us posted! |
What did they end up finding??? |
Have you taken her to a behavorist for dogs ? I would try that. |
Sorry. I guess I should search threads, but can you elaborate on your phrase "all the time". I have a "cry baby" too, but I don't want to comment unless I know more about your experience. Also how old is your furbaby and how large? |
She is 11 months old, and 5 pounds now. For ex. we will be sitting on my bed and she will be sitting next to me just crying. I try to ignore her but she doesnt stop. even picking her up doesnt make her stop. Sometimes she will be crying & standing just looking aat me. she used to shake when she cried but she rarely does thaat anymore. She will just cry & cry & cry. I dont know if that helped?? if not feel free to ask more questions. |
