**Update***
 

For all of you that responded to my first thread in which I had found out that Maximus supposedly had a collapsed trachea..I took him back to the vet and they think that it may have been a mis-diagnosis...but they cannot be sure till he is big enough to use an endoscope to check...but luckily he hasn't HAD ANY coughing spells since the medicine has been done. Also he is now 3.2 lbs....he gained almost 12 oz. since his last doctors appt. (almost 2 weeks)...is that normal...lol..or is he a little porker?...just wanted to say thanks for all those who said a little prayer for Maximus and ME!!!

That's great news!!! You must feel so relieved! I hope everything turns out alright & I'll keep him in my prayers!!

That is really great news - you must be soooo relieved he's not coughing anymore - Glad to hear he's gaining weight too -

my pup gained 7 oz. in 2 weeks. He likes to eat.lol

my puppy Rex (a yorkie-maltese) is 5 months old as of the 28th of May and he ways 8.5 lbs :eek: when he was getting his shots (FINALLY OVER) his weight gain was incredible! i brought him at the 1st time at 3lbs...2nd time...5lbs.....3rd time-7lbs.....4th time...8lbs! and he is soo skinny..he hardly eats :eek:

Yeah he's a porker..probaly my fault..he is so tiny and sometimes he won't eat a meal or he will gulp his food so fast and look for more that I feel he is still hungry so I give him another 2 tsp. of food, plus I'll usually throw in an additonal slice of the natural balance roll....I finally finished my disposable camera full of Maximus..(I really do have buy a actual Camera...lol) so I will have pics to post soon..Yeah!!!!

I was curious about the collapsed trachea diagnosis and I am so glad you had it checked again. I had thought from the vets I talked to that this condition is not detectable until later in life usually, like mid-life. I am so glad he probably doesn't have a collapsed trachea at this young of an age.

My bf is the one that took him when he started with the coughing noise because I was at work that day..I thought is sounded liek reverse sneezing but I wanted to make sure...the vet said collapsed traches..no xray just by touching...so my bf who didn't know better came home with his meds and said the doc told him to give to Maximus for 10 days...so I took him to another vet for a 2nd opinion...this vet took an xray and said the trachea didn't look bad but this is a problem yorkies have..he thought it may just be kennel cough...(which is odd because how would he get that...but he had just been at the vet the day before getting his shots and there were like 4 dogs in the waiting room..so who knows)...but long story short we went back today and he said his trachea doesn't feel swollen and no cough..so I guess this is his way of saying false alarm..as far as the vet that said kennel cough..he said to come back in 10 days if the cough didn't clear...either way they both said that an endoscope would have to go down Maximus throat to get a complete look at his trachea and see if it is indeed collapsed which at this point he is tooo little for and I wouldn't want to put him through that unless completely necessary..I will keep u all posted
