did they shave your puppys hair for spay/ neuter? I just realized today that Lilo has some of her hair shaved on her back. She just got spayed on friday. I'm a little upset, BC I was trying to let her hair grow, and now big patch of her hair on her back is missing. The hair in this spot is only about 1/2" long, but the rest is about 3" long . I don't know why would they have to shave this spot???? The only reason to do that would be that they used medical tape ( bandaid) and Bc of her long hair the tape stuck to her so they had to cut her hair?!?!?! Is this something normal or I'm just overeacting??? |
They didn't shave Chloe when she was spayed but she has thin hair. Long but thin so maybe it didn't get in the way. :confused: Sorry I didn't have a better answer for you! |
I can't imagine why they would cut hair on her back. Where is the short area? How big of an area is it? |
On her back ?? that's kind of strange - did you ask them why they shaved so high ? |

Only the belly was shaved for spaying. The only reason I can think of is that they used that area for her IV??? |

Cali had intestinal surgery as well as her spay and they shaved her whole belly, then she started to hemmorage after surgery so they had to wrap her whole mid section. Then it looked like they had to cut if off since both sides of her coat were chopped off quite short and uneven. I have been evening her out ever since and she has finally a year later grown out. They also shaved her front leg for IV's. So maybe it was for the IV. |
It sounds strange that they shaved her back...........my Melody got a little bit shaved off her front paw for intravenous fluids..........and it was with my consent and permission. This was all discussed to me prior to her spay. |
They always cut the area to be cut for health issues, but not their backs. |
My Sassy got shaved a little bit on her neck. It took me a few days to notice. I finally noticed it when I was combing her. I just assumed it was from an IV. Of course, they also shaved her belly for spaying. And, her legs a bit for removal of dew claws. I think the back area is a strange place to have shaved and I would have to ask the vet about it. |

her back??? thats strange, i wonder why? They shaved pennys belly and private area, and a spot on her front arm for the iv, but nothing on her back. Maybe you could call them and ask why? Maybe they got shaver HAPPY> LOL |
