Question About Getting Another Yorkie We've had our Little Louie since he was 8wks old and he will be 3 in May and have been thinking about getting another Yorkie we just love them so much. We're just not sure how he will be with having another dog in the home. |
I suggest you take him with you to meet a litter of pups and see what he does, then if you pick one out, take him several times to see his new little brother/sister. Ohh and welcome to YT!!!!!!! |
I am sure he will like having a new playmate around it just may take a period of adjustment |

Welcome to YorkieTalk!!! When you get a chance, post pics of your dog and tell us a bit about him! We all love Yorkie pics here :) |
We are going through the same thing right now. We are looking to get a sister for Zeus and just want to make sure he adjusts well. I'll let you know how it turns out and you do the same, in case you get a new addition before us!! :) |
it worked out great for us! I decided to get another girl just less than two weeks ago. Penny my first yorkie is 1 1/2 yr old and she needed a playmate so we found another girl named kizzy who just turned a year old. They absolutely love each other, everything was great right from the start. I brought kizzy home and let her run around the house while penny was locked up in the bedroom. After about 3 hours i let penny out and they seemed to get along great that first night. We all slept together in the same bed and there was no fighting or argueing at all. I was amazed! Since then things have been just great, they get along so well together. They play and chase, and run all over the place. I say go for it!!!! You wont be disapointed.... |
When I 1st brought my girls home, Scooby wasn't very thrilled about it. He would look at me like "who the heck are they & what are they doing in my house". He kept his distance for a couple of weeks, then he realized he had someone new to play with so it all worked out. Good luck. |
