Do You Sing to Your Yorkie? I confess-- I have a terrible voice, but I love to sing to Pookie and Boo Boo. When I bathe them I sing "I'm Gonna Wash that Man Right Outta My Hair," When I wrap them up in a towel, I sing that late 60's hit, "The Rapper." I also have made up a few silly songs of my own: "Peanut Butter Bon Bon" when I feed them their vitamin wrapped in a peanut butter slice; "That's a Sweet Baby" for general cuddling; and "Pookie, Pookie One" also for general cuddling. Do you like to sing to your babies, and what do you sing? |
Too FUnny! Yes, I sing to them all the time! I sing itsy bitsy spider to Hallie when I'm rubbing her tummy, now when I ask her if she wants to play spider she comes running! I sing Mustang Hallie to her as well! I also make up songs with their names in it that rhyme, they think I'm crazy ;) |
LOL...coincidentally Jerry was moping by the window waiting for mommy to come home and I was singing The Waiting by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. I think I sing to him more than I realize :D Michael |
I have such a horibble voice but i do talk to Mocha constantly.. I can have a full 20 minute conversation with her!! |
I forgot to add that we dance together too! I play dance music and disco and we all run around and dance ;) That's a good mental image I'm sure (haha) |
I sing to Peanut while I'm holding her like a baby. She is so cute and relaxed. Most of the time I just make up a song as I go. LOL |
I sing to Alex all the time. I generally make up songs. He always gets to hear my horrible singing voice in the morning, because when I wake him up I will sing to him. LOL...I am crazy, but I figure singing is sometimes nicer than waking him up loudly. I also have long conversations with him. I talk to him like he is a person. :p |
Its funny to hear others do this too.. I am not alone LOL I sing to both of them, Missy could care less and always walks away but Max will stare at me like he is in love, I jokingly told my husband that hearts start shooting out of Max's eyes when I sing to him :luvu: |

I sing to Lucy more than I talk to her lol! I substitute her name in to songs too and just sing random words to her too. When I take her in the car on our own, I strap her in her harness and stick her on the blanket and then I stick on my Beatles tape (yup my car is rubbish!) and sing her lots of songs as we are going along. :rolleyes: |
I sing the song from My Fair Lady that Col. Pickering sang everytime she goes potty where she is supposed to! Its the one that goes: "I knew that you could do it! You did it! You did it! I said that you could do it and indeed you did!" Crazy, huh? |

Yes, I do, or my step-dad whistles to Riley. He loves the song Amazing Grace. I don't know why, but he does. He goes absolutely crazy! I guess he's just really patriotic. :teethysmi |
I sing and dance with Maddie a lot! I do what a lot of you do...make up different words to go with the music. She seems to be quite amused. Funny how us yorkie owners are so much alike! I love this place and all of you! |
LOL... I call Gidget "The Peanut" and I'll sing, Peanut, peanut butter! and Jelly! First you take the Peanut, and you hug her, you hug her, then you take the Peanut and you kiss her, you kiss her! |
I just showed this to my husband because he made fun of me when I would hold Bandit and sing "Puppy Love". He said they were going to put me away. Ha! Now he knows I'm not the only one to sing to a dog!!!! |

My first Yorkie was Pirogue and I used to sing to him but he'd run away. :eek: I'd hold him in my lap when we went someplace and sing along with the radio and he'd crawl over into my husbands lap. This gave me a terrible complex! He acted like my voice hurt his ears! I've had people tell me I should sing professionally so I assume my voice isn't a harpy screach. So I quit singing when he was around. Lady was our next dog but she was for my husband so I didn't sing for her. Autumn Rose was our next baby and she loves my singing!!! MY EGO IS RESTORED!!!! :p :D It wasn't me! It must be his ears! I know my ears are sensitive to high pitched whines and dogs can hear those dog whistles so I figure he must be sensitive to certain tones or something. Sylvia |

I sing "You are my Sunshine" to both of my babies at the top of my lungs - they just sit there and turn there head from side to side - then I ask them, you like it when mama sings to you? They jump up & down! I'm glad I'm not the only one who does this - my hubby thinks I losing it - dressing them up & singing to them - he says what's next? |
This is too funny and cute!!!! I look at my boy when i sit at the computer and he will look back at me and then i'll start singing to him and he will give me the head tilt . Then he will want up so i pick him up and before you know it i am dancing around the house with him in my arms like a little baby. I sometimes make up words as i am going along or sometimes i will sing a normal song. But it seems his favorite is one that i made up called "mama's little baby boy". He jumps around in my arms when i sing him that.!!!!!! :) :) |
