I turned DOWN shopping ...???? ME ??? That's NUTS ! |
I love this thread. All of them are so true. There are so many I cant even think of any. |

I'm with Villette, I'm stupid in love with my babies. Hubby and I were out grocery shopping and got a call that Mr. Big was missing. The kids had left the door open and he was gone. They searched the house and he wasn't here. We race home, $1200 worth of love missing! The adult kids are out searching the neighborhood and calling, he won't answer them, wouldn't answer them. I come into the house to check for myself. Lightly scan over everything cause I've got kids yelling "We've already looked there, and there and there!" So I go out looking and calling him, "Mr. Big, come to mama! Where's mama's baby boy? Come here you little black devil!" I'm walking and hubby's walking and two adult sons are driving. He's little, how far could he have gone? He weighs about 3# anyone could have snapped him up and I'd never find him. I'm terribly out of shape and about 100# overweight, so I'm huffing and puffing up hills and down. I went down the road and up the next and start on the road behind our property and hear someone yelling "Mom, I've got him." Course I can't believe my ears, "WHAT?" "I've got Mr. Big." So I go huffing and puffing back the way I came. When I see the little sh**, I yell "Put him down, let him come to me!" I couldn't figure out why he wouldn't come so I was calling him. Once he saw me he came in a flash. He had been sleeping under my son's bunkbed! He wasn't outside at all! All I wanted to do was hold him and cry. I wanted to squeeze him soooo tight, but he's so small there's not anything to squeeze. He didn't know what all the fuss was about and he didn't know why mom was getting him all wet. I use their brushes and use mine on them. I just hide the fact that I use theirs. Sylvia |
Ladie of Yorkies - I use the girls brushes all the time AND in a pinch use hubbys - he does NOT know this.... so what's said on YT stays on yt ...cause I don't think he'd appreciate that...lol.... I know how scared you were not finding Mr. Big - your heart is in your throat and you just want to cry - Chanel did that same thing to me when she was a baby...I was in hysterics after searching for her and couldn't imagine how she even got out - the whole time she was curled up in a closet and had no clue I was ready to end it all if I couldn't find her ! luzangela428 ....THREE WHOLE Minutes ? lol....Just let your boyfriend know being #2 isn't so bad....you could have multiple yorkies and then he'd REALLY be down on the list ! |
Ok, sounds like we all are doing and learning pretty much the same from our babies. I have to confess to the brush sharing, if I can't find theirs I use mine on them. Guess it's more like which ever brush I find first gets used on whom ever needs brushing..me or them. LOL . Never would I ever had considered it with any of my previous dogs. and as far as the king sized bed goes...I just bought me a new king size bed last week because the queen size was too small for the 2 pupsters...please don't tell me the king size will be too small too? I already find myself curled and scrunched up on one little side while they sprawl out where ever they wish. |
lol....yup 3 whole minutes...he is always doing something so great I have to talk about it..lol but about the bed thing...I almost never let Maximus sleep in the bed because I worry that maybe I will kick him off or he will fall off the bed...but his bed is placed directly next to me bed so he knows I am there...last night he wanted to play and I was tired so I brought him on the bed and I must have passed out..(bf was away visiting his family)..at 3:22 I woke up FREAKING out when I didn't see maximus in his bed (I wear contacts...strong strong prescription)..so I looked at the foot of the bed (queen size) and I couldn't see anything..I started calling Maximus come mama..Maximus come mama...and I am now on the floor looking thinking he fell and is hurt..just to see him shake his head from his sleep and walk over to me ON THE BED....lol, he is so tiny I didn't see him in the dark..but he promptly went back into HIS BED...because I almost had a HEART ATTACK |
Ok...New morning - new thoughts ! I've learned from my yorkie that I no longer see an elderly person walking and talking babytalk to their dog and think - how sad ...that's all they have left - ...... I now think - THAT'S ME IN 20 YEARS - how lucky they are ! |
OH my GOSH I'm :yelrotflm in the floor from all the great stories. |
 FLASHBACK!!! During the Christmas holidays, Toto and I got caught up in "airport hell" and was forced to unexpectedly stay overnight in Denver! They told me to just leave my bags checked to save me time the next morning and I was so mad & exhausted from the delays & airline screwups, I agreed. While freezing on one of the "islands" waiting for the shuttle to the hotel, it suddenly dawned on me that in those bags was all TOTO'S STUFF!!!! I ran back in the airport, grabbed a "porter" and frantically had him locate my bags ... telling him I had to have my Toto's stuff!! [He was looking at me a little strange!] Later, at the hotel, I was so glad I did that ... I keep duplicate "toiletries" for myself at home [Alabama] so I don't have to pack so much when we fly there ... I didn't even have a comb or toothbrush in the bags for myself ... but The Toto had everything we needed!! ;) A little "doggie" toothpaste never hurt anyone, right?!? :yelrotflm luvmypupster ... we found that buying the biggest bed that they make doesn't guarantee more room except for one of us, and she is covered with fur!!! |
Now THAT'S a great yorkie mommy - having ALL the yorkie stuff and nothing for yourself - I would have done the same thing - aren't we just too much sometimes ? :D |
So I don't miss anything on YT, I had to make a few adjustments in my computer room. I put my secretary type chair next to the computer, so Maggie could nap. Well, one day she fell through the back when she rolled over. Guess what fits a secretary chair? A pillow sham. I took one of my kingsize quilted pillow shams, slipped it over the back section and layed the other half in the seat area. Works great, and I haven't missed a post. |
that's a wonderful tip with the sham. We yorkie people can be very creative when it comes to problem solving for our babies |
