I need feedback in Florida! Hi anyone.... I took my puppy to the groomer this a.m....good reputation in the area, etc.,I was assured they don't use sedation...I wasn't asked to sign any waivers or anything.....Meghan is 14 weeks old, so it was her first trip. She has been pretty lethargic since I brought her home...doesn't seem to want to eat....or go out....she's curled up on my bathrobe on the floor.....she's just not herself. Has anyone else experienced this.....could it be she's mad at me?????? (oh brother....I'm a mess....) HELP....any re-assuring input would help me sleep tonight.....or off to the vet she goes tomorrow!!!!! Thanks.... KatnBob in Florida.... |
I can't think of any reason other than she got really stressed. I'm such a fanatic, I stayed with Darla her first visit to the groomer. I sat on the couch and waited. I didn't care - I was not leaving her there alone. Hopefully, a good night's rest and some good cuddle time with you will bring her back to her normal self. |
she's probably just really sleepy. that happens to morgan too after she's groomed. even at home after a bath she's sleep. its a tough job standing there and being washed. LOL she should be fine tomorrow |
layla is a MESS when i bring her home.. sleeps ALL day.. and then for at least two days after wants to be held all the time... i think it is just stress... because the woman at petsmart just loves her so i know thye take great care of her.. layla hates baths.. and being blow dried.. lol... lately they have been keeping her there for like 3 hours... so next time she goes i'm paying an extra 12 bucks and she'll be out in a hour!! well worth the money! |
Brandi is the exact same way......and my first thought was that they "drugged" her......but I know the groomer personally......and my ex used to have his dogs groomed there.....AND so did my ex b/f.....and this was who my vet recommended.....so I was pretty comfortable using them.......... I also sent my daughter's friend there.....she has a maltese.....and she told me when she was there....that they asked this woman to take her dog to the vet to get some sort of of med to sedate the dog before grooming....... She is just one big mush when I bring her home..........very clingy......only wants to lay in my arms......I have to admit it's kind of nice to see her so calm LOL......I don't take her more often that absolutely necessary though.......I hate putting her through that |

Muffin will be 10 years old next month & every trip to the groomer has always put her in what we call a "puppy coma"! :) She gets in the front door with her collar & leash still attached, jumps up on her pillows on the couch & immediately falls asleep. I think there's so much activity there, it's semi-stressful...it just plain tuckers them out. Let us know how she's doing tomorrow. And you too! ;) CJ |

My girls both take a huge nap after the groomers;) |
Same with us. All three of mine are absolutely exhausted after going to the groomers. I agree- it seems to be stress. They get so worked up they just collapse when it's over. |
