anybody have an underbite? Maggie has a slight underbite. I can't notice it (unless I am looking for it) now but I am wondering if it will be more noticeable when her adult teeth come in? she has lost all of her baby teeth in the front, her top ones have started peeking through and the bottom ones are trying. Just wondering if her adult teeth might show with a slight underbite. It is very slight, not drastic at all. I didn't even notice it until the vet pointed it out. I didn't think to ask then if it would be an issue with her teeth. I think she is soooooooo adorable and if her teeth show, it will just add to her personality. I just hope it isn't a health issue. |
My girl has a underbite and it is very noticable. When we first got her it wasn't that bad as she grew it got more and more noticable. So far its not a issue. Doesn't get in her way at all! I really can't say that your girls underbite will get worse because I don't know just saying what I noticed with my girl. I love her just the way she is anyway! |
One of mine has an underbite. It's not real noticeable. She was fine as a pup but she grew alot - fast, and that may be why it occurred. The vet said it could cause her problems down the road, especially with her teeth getting dirty cause the bite isn't right. So I'm supposed to keep the teeth clean for her... |
I always get it mixed up but if the upper teeth were coming over the lower teeth, unless it's horrible, it will usually correct itself because the lower jaw grows much faster the top jaw. If the top teeth are way back and the lower ones are protuding, that is bad. |
underbite My little Maggie (funny the same name) also has an underbite. Didn't notice it until we had her baby teeth pulled. Now she looks like she is always either growling or smiling! The vet didn't think it would be a problem. We still love her!! |

Well... two of my dogs... my lhasa/bichon and my yorkie poo have underbites. Bentley's isn't noticeable unless you physically open his mouth then you can see the bottom teeth stick out further.. he looks like he's smiling though and I didn't notice it much (he's 10 months). My lhasa/bichon has an underbite but still has her puppy teeth so I'm not sure how it will turn out.. the place I got her from told me she had the underbite, but she was too cute to leave based on that :) *on a side note* my sister Lex who's 12 now.. she had an underbite as a baby and when she lost her baby teeth it actually corrected itself!! So you never know! |
My precious Raisin, now in Rainbow Bridge bless her heart, had an over bite. It just added to her character and never caused her any problems eating, though she always left crumbs of food behind. I did not care as I just adored her. It was never noticable unless you turned her upside down. I still miss her every day and if I could only go back in time my life would be so much sweeter! |
