Advice on Training and Trainers. I am thinking about getting a trainer for Buddah. I am afriad I'm not doing a good enough job and I want him to be the best he can be. I've just never trained a puppy before. Do you guys recommend a personal trainer or do you think the petsmart classes are any good? Any advice would be great. By the way I'm in Orange County. If any of you know a great trainer in the area I would be happy to hear it :) Thanks guys! |
I did a puppy obedience class with Simon and he learned the basics but I was still having some issues (like him trying to bolt out the door) and I don't think Hallie had ever been trained (I got her when she was 2.5) so I hired a personal trainer last October. He is AMAZING! He came into my apartment and trained me :) I really liked the one on one attention he gave Simon and Hallie and it worked, we are really doing better! I highly recommend a personal trainer over classes but I have adult dogs which are more difficult to train anyway~ |

My initial consult was $100 Each visit was $65 and he spent about 2-2.5 hours with us. He came every week for 6 weeks and now we are on a once a month weekend visit. I am in a good situation though, the trainer I use is at the daycare I take Simon and Hallie and he's there the same days I take them so he works with them some without me. I don't make a lot of money so it was something I saved for and I don't regret a penny of it :) |
