Constipated by eating bananas???
When Mia was about a year and a half old, I gave her a few pieces of bananas. Well come to find out, this constipated her. Poor thing, her stomach hurt so much she could not lie down. She was so tired, but as soon as she would try to lie down, she would get up quickly. You could see her eyes closing and her head dropping, but as soon as she would go to lie down, it hurt. I actually spent the whold night with her, holding a pillow on her chest when she was sitting so she could have something to lean on. The next morning, poor Mia didn't have time to go outside. You should've seen all the pieces of poop all lined up in the kitchen leading to the door. I didn't know bananas could constipate dogs, I've been told it's because of the potassium. Does any other food constipate your Yorkies?? I was scared to give her more fruit after that, but now she loves apples, watermelon, honeydew melon, etc. |
