D Ring vs Hole for Harness? I have several outfits that have no way to attach a leash. I am a fairly decent sewer and am debating whether to add a D Ring or to sew a button hole and just put Finnigen's harness on under his outfit then slip the D Ring from his harness through the button hole and attach the leash. I have several outfits to do and of course if I added the D ring I would want to try to match the the fabric to the outfit, which might be difficult in some cases. Where as adding a button hole would be easier. Does anyone have any experience with this and which idea would you recommend? Thanks! Shar-Lee & Finnigen |
Well, the D-rings are nice, but you may want to consider whether or not he pulls. If he pulls and you have D-rings, you can end up with a very stretched out outfit.:D Otherwise, they are great, especially if the material doesn't stretch or they can't possibly pull out of the outfit. |
Yorkieusa brings up a good point about stretching. I'd never thought of that. I usually just throw the harness over their coats, but it's sort of a hassle and doesn't look as nice. Do you keep the harness on him around the house? If so, I'd say the buttonhole would be easier. |
I'm so impatient... didn't wait for answers. I went and sewed a couple of button holes on my heavier outfits and they look fine. Now I just need to pick up some interfacing to do them on the thinner material. Thanks everyone! |
