Hello

I Just Had To Tell Someone - Today I Plucked Up The Courage And Trimmed, Bathed And Did The Dreaded Nail Clipping.......

Harvey Did Not Like To Be Trimmed At All (i Have Done Him A Little Before - Around His Eyes, Feet And Bottom) - But This Time He Needed A Real Good Tidy Up. I Think I Did A Good Job, He Looks Much Better, But Now Seems So Small Again, Like A Tiny Puppy.

He Is 11 Months Old Now And Weighs 3.5 Lb.

The Bath Was Not Too Bad - Cant Say He Likes It, But He Behaves Himself Well.

The Nails - I Was Dreading Doing Them, But He Was No Trouble At All - He Just Sat In My Arms And I Clipped Them One By One And He Was Really Really Good About It. I Just Took The Very End Off And Will Do It Now Every 2 Weeks, They Are Not Too Long But I Want To Keep Them Trimmed. Cant Believe He Didnt Carry On, And Cry - I Was So Expecting It From Him.

Afterwards He Would Not Let Me Dry Him With The Hairdryer - I Just Towel Dried Him - And He Was Soon Dry. He Had His Tea And Slept For A Few Hours - Sooooooo Tired From His Ordeal - Bless Him...

I Will Take Some Pictures Tomorrow And Post Them Soon.....

What kind of tea? My breeder told me she gives her dogs tea sometimes, but I thought they weren't supposed to have caffine. She uses regular (like Lipton) and also adds a little salt, her husband said. ????

I give u credit for doing it urself! I do small trims between grooming appoinment but never anything major.

I know it saves money to do it urself! Way to go on doing it urself!

Sorry To Confuse You - Over Here We Call Tea - Food, Or Dinner That Is Given At 4,5,or 6 O'clock. Not Literally A Drink. I Will Have To Try To Remember To Avoid The Strange Sayings We Have In The Future.

Good job, Mom!! Just keep doing the grooming and your little Harvey will become so used to you doing it he will want noone else! :) It's also a wonderful bonding experience for the two of you. Looking forward to seeing the pics!! ;)

I Only Really Decided On Grooming Him Myself Because I Cant Face The Idea Of Leaving Him Anywhere To Be Done Professionally.

The Places I Have Enquired At, Dont Think It A Good Idea For Me To Stay - They Say It Will Make Harvey More Upset If I Stay, So They Dont Allow It.

So I Will Just Have To Get Better At Doing Him Myself.

Aren't you lucky !! Mine act like it's Chinese water torture when they just SEE the nail clippers - and after that - they're going to the guillotine :p :p ......Very good job and can Harvey come have a little talk with my girls and tell them nail clipping does NOT hurt ???

That Is Exactly Like I Expected Him To Behave - I Was Very Surprised - Thought You Would Have Heard His Cries All The Way Over In The USA..........

I Will Have A Chat With Him Tomorrow When He Wakes Up, About Spreading The Word - That It Really Really Really Does Not Hurt At All Having Your Nails Trimmed!!

I just gave a bath to my new baby also ... she is 12.5 weeks old ..(weighs 1.8 lb.).. I would be afraid to trim the nails, but you have given me encouragement that itz not as scarey as I thought ..... Friday is sleeping it off also ..
I also bathed Monday .(weighs 4.1 lbs) ... shez sleeping also ... I am the one who should be tired .... but they both smell nice and i am going to read a bit and go to sleep.

I trimmed up Hoku and Kalani and gave them both baths this morning also:) They weren't thrilled but didn't fight me so I'm hoping I can get better at it and do it myself. I hate the thought of leaving them at the groomers for hours at a time:(
