New Member Hello, I am a first time Yorkie owner and I am new to this forum. I am looking forward to meeting other Yorkie owners and discussing training, feeding, behavioral issues, etc, I just love this little girl but I find her quite challenging at times. My biggest problem right now is how to get her to stop bitting my hands and pulling on my clothes. She seems to be playing but it still hurts and ruins my clothing Sharonn |
Welcome to Yt, you're gonna love it here, everyone is so helpful. Please post pics soon, we love babies. I just got my little girl on Friday of last week and she is playing like crazy and biting. I clap my hands real loud to make her stop when she's acting up. While she's biting I say that's no-loud and in a stern voice so she will know it's bad. I also don't let her bite on metal, or cords or my pants without scolding her. I also use a flyswatter to swat the floor or the table to make her stop. Her reaction is funny, but she stops. lol |
Welcome to the Group. Try putting some Bitter Apple or like spray on your hands it will discourage her some. When she bites you if playing-- Firmly say No and walk away for a few minutes so that she understands that biting is not allowed. If you see her with clothing and such chewing them take them away from her while saying No and give her an appropriate toy to chew on. Cozy quickly learned No and Drop it. Be consistent. I know how cutie a puppy can be but it is not so cute when they are an adult with behavior issues. |

Hi and welcome ! She's just a puppy right ? She will grow out of it but one great thing about yorkies is they keep lots of their 'puppy' qualities...at least my 2 have.....Nice to have you here :) |
Thank You! Gosh, Thanks for the quick replies. I will send pictures just as soon as I figure out how. My little girl is 5 month old and soooooo adorable, yet she is sure a brat sometimes. I am looking forward to more chats Sharon |
