What do you guys think - Yes or no ? I think it's been to get opinions from you guys because alot of you know ALOT about Yorkies. Well , duh - this is a Yorkie forum (slaps self!). I posted a couple of days ago that i'm looking to get a new playmate for Zoey. I was going towards a girl but now , i'd rather have a boy. I've been searching high and low for breeders around in my actual area and I haven't found anyone. I am speaking with another member that lives about 3 hours from me though. She's a breeder so i'm looking forward to seeing some of her Yorkies as well. However , I was browsing puppyfind.com and I came across a page with a cute little Yorkie boy for $575.00 with shipping included! I'm definately nervous about buying a puppy off of the internet and sending my money to some stranger after hearing all of the horror stories. The price just made me cringe. I looked at this persons reviews and her reviews were wonderful! She had about 10 from different people that had purchased a yorkie from her. She also had her website listed. It's http://www.ultimatepuppies.com Her male puppies are not only good in price but from the looks of the pictures , they seem to be well-taken care of and the parents are on there as well. I'm sure those are the parents because they have the same backdrop as the puppies with the outside setting. I emailed the lady and she emailed me very prompt. I need opinions. Yes or no? I guess the price is making me kind of sketchy. They are all so cute though! I want a cute but HEALTHY pup. They look like little butterballs. Opinions would be wonderful! |
Sorry - I wouldn't. First she has too many breeds. Second just because she's on the internet. Third the price (too low w/shipping). Try calling some of your local vets - they should know if there's a breeder near by. I'm going to wait to see if I can get one from one of the breeders here - or someone they know. Good Luck!! |
I'm still learning alot myself so I can't give you an answer but I will tell you they all look adorable. Good Luck (bump) |
Hmmm...it is a chance you take I think? My Maltese was found on the internet, but I did research and the breeder was referred to me and I did feel comfortable. I found she didn't communicate with me much and I hardly got any pictures of her as she got older. But the puppy came beautiful and fine when I got her. My first Yorkie I found on puppyfind but I searched for someone in my area and drove only 2 hours to get her. I felt really guilty about having my first baby shipped and opted not to go that route again. I found that if I was patient, I could find a puppy close enough to me that I could go see her for myself and also avoid shipping. So not sure if I helped or not, but I believe there is a bit of a risk that you take when you can't go "see" for yourself beforehand. But some may be very honest with very healthy babies too! Preference my dear. Go with your gut... |
Too many puppies and too many different breeds - red flag. They do take good pictures, but... The price is also way toooooo low - another red flag. Call some vets in their area and see which one they go to and check on them. That would be one way to see. T. |
I agree with the others...I just looked at her website...too many breeds and too many litters! Be careful! |
Nope, wouldn't do it! I got involved with a seller on puppyfind.com and it was such a scam............I didn't fall for it, got out before I got scammed!!! He posted the dog was only two hours from me, a really good price but then found out his zipcode was in Texas but further communication showed he was in Missouri. Just got too complicated and I got suspicious and called it off! Better to have patience and get a nice pup that does not come with problems that a scam does! JMO |
Not all the dogs on puppyfind are scams. You just have to remember to research, know the red flags so you can avoid any problems/troubles. And try not to just email them - call them in person. You get a lot more information from the breeder and you can tell in their voice better what is what. T. |
