My yorkie swallowed plastic..please help!! I just got home from work and found my plastic chapstick on the floor chewed to pieces. I am sure she swallowed some small pieces, but my concern is that I cannot find the bottom piece that you twist. I am afraid she swallowed it! I called the vet and they said to keep an eye on her. Is there anything I can give her to help her possibly pass it. I am freaking out here!! I dont know what I would do if anything ever happened to her! |
try getting her to eat alot and maybe then she will pass it. I think there's also something you can buy at the store to get them to go potty. |

I feel your panic so try to calm yourself down. You won't do either of you any good if your not thinking straight. Listen to your vet. Watch her and check all her stools. Buddy threw up a piece of hard plastic the size you are describing and I don't know where he got it from but it did come up on it's own. Be patient and try to stay calm. It she is eating then it's not lodged anywhere. Just watch her. It could take a day or two to pass if she swollowed it. Sorry can't be of any more help. Your vet is your best bet. These little one's will give us heart failure more than once. Hope all will be fine, I am sure it will be. Carol & Buddy |
Similar thing happened here. My Vet told me to give Porkie a teaspoon of Metamucil or similar brand, he said if she's going to pass it then it would help. Gave it to her, she passed it just fine. Thankfully! You could sprinkle it on her food, but Porkie just licked it right off the teaspoon. |
Another thing you can do is add some olive oil to her food! |
Thank you so much for your replies..so far so good. She is acting normal so I just have to keep an eye on her I guess. Keep your fingers crossed!!! |
