Thin Hair Summerlin's hair is awfully thin. She is nine weeks old. Will it get thicker as she gets older? What can I do to help it thicken up? Thanks for your help! |
Can anyone help me out with this? |
2 Attachment(s) Hi! Thin hair in a puppy usually means they will have a nice silky coat, not a wooly one. The ones with tons of hair really early, are darling, but often have a wooly coat that is harder to groom because of mats. Yorkies go through so many changes in the first year, so it is hard to tell how they will end up. There is a lot to be said for both types of coats, any Yorkie is darling. So just take good care of your baby, and enjoy all the changes as they come. A good quality food, and maybe a supplement will help nature on its way. Congradulations on your baby. My Sawyer had very thin hair, but he is 8 months now, and it is coming in nicely and very silky.:animal37 :animal37 |
4 Attachment(s) My Tinkerbell is 14 months now and has really silky thin hair:rolleyes: |
Chloe's hair is really thin too. I wondered if that meant she was gonna be more silky. I noticed she never has had the thick plush hair that I've seen lots of puppy pictures have. |
She's a baby - what will be will be :) :) they go thru lots of changes from 9 weeks all the way to about 2 years - If I were you I'd just enjoy her and not worry about it - there is something called the Missing Link you can try - (Petsmart) I can't really tell you if it works but have seen others say it's helped their yorkies |
I have been told that as yorkies hair is the same texture as human hair then if you keep brushing it with a soft brush and keep it tangle free then the hair will grow naturally. My two are now age 4 and 2 and their hair is growing well now especially the 4 year olds. i do not have their hair trimmed as I show my two but you can always just snip of the end of the hair on a regular basis and this does help to thicken it, but only a very small amount at a time must be trimmed |
