I just got a yorkie!! This is my first post here, but I am so excited. We just found our first yorkie. We are going to pick him up tomorrow. I think I have most everything, but if anyone could give me a quick checklist of items that I may have forgotten, that would be great!! Thanks for your help!! |
Welcome to yt. and congrats on your first puppy. List this under my yorkie or in the general and you will get alot more response. |
Congratulations and welcome to YT. A new puppy, how exciting for you!! As far as a checklist? I'm sure you'll have the food the puppy is currently eating. You might want to get some Nutrical, I did not and have never needed anything like it, but it might be something you'll need. If you don't have a vet, find one you trust (recommendations from friends?) Puppyproof your house, making sure things that could harm him are out of reach or put away, like electrical cords, plants, etc. I'm sure there are more things others will tell you to have on hand, anyone? |
Congratulations and welcome to YT!!!! You will be so happy with your new yorkie............and keep visiting here and posting! There are a lot of great people here! |
Welcome to YT and congratulations. How exciting for you. I remember the day when Buddy came home, it was wonderful. Look forward to seeing pictures. Please use a harness not a collar on your little one. Good luck, Carol & Buddy |
Welcome to YT, and congrats on your new baby, looking forward to seeing pics! :) |
Welcome...:welcome4:....:congrats:..You will have to post pictures once your little is home....:yorkiesar . |
Congratulations on your new family member. I'm sure you did your homework on raising a puppy and what all you will need. :p I usually just say to buy some Nutri-Cal. These little ones have to eat at least 5 or 6 times a day, and if they don't, then the Nutri-Cal will stimulate their hungar and give them the vitamins they need. |
Hi! Welcome to Yorkietalk!!! Congrats on your new baby! |
Congratulations! You might want to ask the breeder for a small blanket or towel that has his mother's scent on it, he can sleep with it until he adjusts to his new home. I also put a bigger stuffed dog in the puppys bed along with the mommy blanket so they feel secure since puppy's like small spaces. Are you training with potty pads? If so stock up before you pick him up! Good luck! :yorkiesar |
Welcome to YT and Congratulations!! I know you all are soooo excited! :) Our Toto is 3 yrs. old and she never ceases to amaze us! You're certainly in for a lifechanging experience ... this little one is our joy! Can hardly wait to hear all about your baby and see pics! ;) [BTW ... my sweet hubby, Patrick, lived in Madison, AL long ago! Small world! ] |
Congrats on the new puppy |
Congratulations! :dreaming: I'm so jealous! Want a yorkie so bad! Getting lots of good ideas on what to get for when I do though! Can't wait to see pictures of your new little one!! |
Collar and tags (you can get instant tags at petsmart) lead crate with a crate bed and blanket in it dog bed dog bowls food--find one with a very small kibble. Royal Canin makes a baby puppy kind with softer kibbles. nutrical toys--tiny ball and a sock works great pads and newspapers x-pen (get the 2' tall one. The 3' tall one is hard to reach into) brush--start brushing early and try everyday, they try to bite the brush at first though natures miracle for accidents--and there WILL be many That's all I can think of right now. hth, Misty |
