Just ate a stick I just had Mocha out for a walk and she swallowed a stick.. I am really worried about her now.. I hope she is ok.. She is inside and I gave her water and she's running and playing but i am worried it will block up her bowels!! Anyway ever experience this?? |
All I can say is, its better than eating the wall! Just check her bm's and make sure she's not bleeding or anything. |
Missy ate a stick before and was just fine. I didnt actually see her EAT the stick but I did notice a stick in her poop! |
Thanks.. I am wondering if i should call the vet and see.. How can you tell if there is blood in the stool.. I am sorry if this is a stupid question, I just don't know what to look for |
Our Dog Comic has gotten in to garbage and ate chicken, turkey and beef bones when he was puppy. He is 13 years old now. Your puppy might vomit it up or just poop it out. We also had a puppy that chewed through a wooden door. He was fine too. |
I would imagine she would pass what ever she ate with in 24 hours, so from now till then check her stool once she's passed and if you see any mucus or blood on it take her in, but if you see a stick in the stool and no blood she's probably fine ;) I always call my vet if I have any questions, you should give them a call if that will make you feel better, I am sure they will be able to give you some advice. I've noticed a few things in Missy's poop that I was shocked she even ate, like the stick, a Q-tip and a little plastic foot to my sons army guy. She can be really sneaky and try to eat any little thing she finds on the ground. If I ever catch her sitting really quietly I have to check her mouth to see what she has! |
Gucci ate a piece of wood when she was younger. I was so worried but Thankfully nothing happen. She did poop it out. Just keep watching her. :aimeeyork |
My daughter's yorkie eats sticks if he gets the chance and always poops them out. What amazes me is how those sticks pass through the intestines without perforating or cutting them. Hope your little one is okay! |
Milo has pooped out drywall, little stones and all sorts of stuff....he is a busy boy  |
