Prayers going out to you and your little one. |

External and single internal LS have been ruled out . Microvascular Dysplasia ( MVD ) microscopic blood vessels that form into the liver not yet ...the only way to figure that out is by doing a liver biopsy. |
Poor little Royce - he's going thru so much. I will keep both you and him in my thoughts and prayers. Keep up your faith. These little guys are fighters. |

Mvd Callie went to the internal specialist yesterday since her bile acids were previously high. He suggested a protein C bloodwork test to rule out liver shunt. If the levels come back normal (which hers did) then he said that is a sure way to rule out shunts..BUT he also said that since her bile acids were high that he felt strongly it was MVD instead. I just found this out today but I want to tell you that its not as serious as you might think because after talking to him he really gave me hope. He said that MVD is very common in Yorkies and that they can easily live with this condition, with no special diet, medicine or symptoms. Yes it is an abnormality but he was very confident that dogs with MVD can lead normal, happy, healthy lives :D As for the kidney issues etc. I am not familiar with them but will def. keep Royce in my prayers. Please let me know anything of interest you find out about MVD as I am learing now too  |
