Dana I am so deeply sorry for what happened to Andy.
The man who let his GS dog walk without a leash needs to be held
responsible somehow. I hope he feels remorse for his stupidity.
I can't imagine the pain you are feeling at this time but I do hope
your heart heals when you get your new little furbaby.

Dana: I'm so sorry for your loss of Andy and the way he died. :( I would have wanted to smack the s_it out of the owner for being so stupid and not having his big dog on a leash and the end result of that being the loss of your dear Andy. :mad: I can't image how you felt watching that happen. I'm glad you called the police. Take Care....

Ive heard this type of story so many times now and it breaks my heart! I cannot imagine having to see that happen! Im so sorry for you and your Andy! I hope you reported the man with the dog off the leash. I know your new puppy will help heal the hole in your heart a little bit in time. :hug: to you and your family

That is awful. It is not your fault. I wish people with big dogs would realize that just because they think they are gentle and nice doesn't mean they can't flip like a switch at the sight of a unfamiliar dog. I hope puppy fills your home with love and happiness :)

I'm terribly sorry your going thru such a horrible time. Thank you for sharing this information. I've been telling everyone that they should never take their babies out without a leash. Since your country does have a leash law, I hope you are bringing a suit against that person.

I am so sorry for your loss. There is nothing that can replace Andy, but I am sure a new puppy will make you feel better. This is a horrible thing that does happen when people do not keep their pets on a leash, big or small.

I have 2 VERY big German shepherds and my yorkie baby Junior. I never walk my shehpherds without a leash, for this very reason. However, I have encountered people who dont keep their little dogs on leashes, and they come running up to my dogs! Thank heavens they are trained and nothing bad has happened to this date. I will continue to train and work with my dogs to prevent as many bad dog encounters as possible.

Best wishes to you and your puppy. Sounds like you have a lot of love in your heart to give!!

Hello and Thank you very much for all your replies. I see 41 replies. I treasure every one from all of you. My english is not perfect so hope you can understand me well. In Czech republic it is leash Laws yes but some stupid people do not respect those laws . In the area where we live so everybody with small dogs goes with leashes so we expect the same from owners of big dogs.....Right ? Now My big dream is to move to a small family house with high Fence and to be saved on the garden..no big dog could to attack my yorkie darlings. But to buy a very small house it is very expensive here so It is my Big Dream but I am not sure that will come tru One day.I wish so.

Yorkie222, you are absolutely right about the leash laws. We have them here too and they are for all dogs, large and small. I think some people that don't leash their dogs are only thinking that their dog is fine off-leash because he won't run away. But they don't stop to think about what their dogs will do when they see another dog. They can be very unpredictable. You are right, these people who don't leash their dogs are stupid because even if they don't care about anyone else's dogs, they should at least be concerned about their own dog. And by the way, your english is just fine!

Dana, i only saw this thread now :( I am so so sorry for your loss of Andy, i know how much you love your babies. My heart goes out to you. I don't know what people with big dogs think to let them run, and do as they please!

Dana, I too am very sorry to hear about Andy. Both of your babies are beautiful. I don't think we ever "get over" a loss of baby whether it be with fur or skin. Only time and loving will heal your heart. It's only been 10 months since we put down our Lab of 15 yrs and my heart still aches for him. I can't look at any blk Lab without thinking of him. The tears still come... but my little Mia helps me smile again. Let yourself grieve, but know that it was not your fault and he wants you to love again.

I am so sorry for your loss. :( I worry about dogs on the loose all the time when I have my little ones outside. I know nothing will replace Andy, but the new pup should help with the healing process.

Hello all friends on forum,thank you very much for your messages,I cry so much to read them all.I know that you all can imagine what I feel now. Andy was our the first yorkie !! I look at his coat and crying..I look at his plate and crying........So much tears at last three weeks.
One day I would like to go to Doggie heaven to meet Andy again there.
Do you know we live in Czech republic near PRAGUE in Europe ? I am so happy I am able to write and read english and to be friends with yorkie lovers from all the world......sending you photos of my new puppy. He is only five weeks now...He is on the right side of photo. I will take him home 2nd March. Again Thanks very much for all your replies ! I treasure that so much !!

Oh, he is so cute! Have you picked out a name for him yet??? I have a Toby as well. I hope you continue to heal from your loss...........time, takes time! And he will forever be in your heart!
