missing link & fish oil Reese has had terrible flaky, itchy skin. I switched her food from Nutro Max to Ultra because it doesn't contain corn. I also began slowly giving her Missing Link about 2 weeks ago. I read all the posts about fish oil and bought some salmon oil in a squirt bottle today. Can I give her both ML and the oil?? Is it ok to put it over her dry food or should I get something else to put this stuff in?? Gosh, the things we do for our dogs..I should take such care of myself!! |
I put the missing link in a spoonful of cottage cheese and I just squirt the grizzly salmon oil on her food, but she gets the oil on her hair on her face and then she smells like a fish....yuck, so I am going to do something different. |
Hi, We had some similar skin issue with our little guy when he was a baby. We used fish oil and flax seed oil on his food a couple of times per week. It worked great. The good fats that are in the oils really make a huge difference. Our vet said that he is the healthiest small yorkie she has ever treated in her practice. We just put it right on his dry food and he ate it up! Good luck. |
Well I think you could use both but I believe missiing link has the fatty acids and omega-3's that the fish oil has so I would stick to missing link. No sense in going double. |
I've seen Missing Link mentioned in MANY posts.....but I'm not quite sure what it is.......I mentioned to my vet that Brandi looked like she had dandruff.....he gave me Derm Caps I'm going to put the ingredients here maybe someone can let me know if this is good for her......it also says 1 capsule per 20 lbs of body weight.....he said to only give like 2 - 3 times a week........Brandi is 4 lbs 13 oz crude protein crude fat crude fiber moisture linoleic acid vitamin E Special Ingredients Eicosapentaenoic acid docosahexaenoic acid gamma linolenic acid Other Ingredients safflower oil, gelatin, fish oil, glycerin, borage seed oil, water anyone have any ideas here? |
I have also seen that people use both the oil and the Missing Link..is it too much??? |
