Recipe for treats or cake.... I hope it is alright that I post this here. Peppi my cocker spaniel has her birthday coming up, it is Feb. 11. She will be 9 years old. I really wanted to make her birthday special this year because last year it was only 3 dogs and now it is 8. So I want her to still know that she is and will always be my number one baby. I don't have much money to spend so I thought I would make her a birthday cake or some special treats. So does anyone have a recipe they can share?? I promise this is only for Peppi, I am not going to sell the recipe or start making treats or cakes and start selling, I am not much of a cook anyways, lol. I would really appreciate any help on recipes, I want her birthday to be really special, she deserves it!! |

These are just a few. I know Target Online had a doggie cake pan as well. I hope you send pics of the cake when done. |
I haven't attempted cakes yet but I saw this recipe linked on YT a while back. I'm not sure How good it is. I don't even remember who posted it but I thought it looked cute. Here's the link: http://www.ljcfyi.com/ljcsProjects/cooking/dogCake.html |
4 cups oat bran 2 1/2 cups unbleached flour 2 1/2 teaspoons baking soda 1 egg 1/2 cup vegetable oil 1/2 cup honey 1/2 cup natural peanut butter (the kind that has to be kept in the fridge,) 2 1/2 cups buttermilk. (I just posted a recipe for doggie cake, but here is another really good Kennel cakes that's easy and they love it.) preheat oven to 375 degrees. mix oat bran, flour and baking soda in a large bowl. Add egg, oil, honey, peanut butter and buttermilk and stir. (buttermilk powder can be bought in a can. This way it lasts a very long time.) Fill a greased muffin tin so that cups ar two-thirds full and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center. Serve when cooled and store in a sealed container. |
Wow, Thanks everyone!! I will have to give this recipe's a try!! Thanks soooo much!!:thumbs up :thankyou2 :yorkietal And I will post pictures of the cake once I am done with it. One quick question, is frosting alright for a dog or should I use something else to decorate the cake with?? |
