Do you Shave The Belly??? For those of you who keep your little one in a full coat, my question is this... Do you shave the belly smooth? I think I read somewhere that they should be shaved up to the armpits. I don't do that right now but wonder if it would make things easier. I also would like to know, how often do you groom. I'm having my girls done every 6-7 weeks mainly because of their toenails which I'm just too squeemish to do. My groomer doesn't do much to them. I don't think she's very experienced when it comes to yorkies but as I've posted before, I like her because she comes to my home and lets me stay with the girls. Anyway, just thought it would be nice to get some input from some of you! Thanks! |
I never shave the armpits or belly simply because of the itching it causes, but I do keep it cut short because of the way it matts up, especially under the arms. |
We ask our groomer to shave Jack's belly because it gets dirty in the snow. I haven't noticed him itching. We don't worry so much about Eddie because his hair isn't long like Jack's. |
I call Max my little Italian boy. He has so much hair on his belly, I have already cut some back. We have only had him a week, but every time he pees his whole tummy is wet. |
Thanks eveyone. I think I'll trim if not shave. |
hope this helps! whenever your baby is itchy after they've been groomed, it's clipper irration. Buy ( Skin Works) and it'll soothe and heal it right up!:) |
Yes I Shave The Belly Mostly on my male. But not all the way to the armpits. |
shaving - ouch!!! Sadie doesn't have much hair on her belly or chest - but she's only 8 months old - does the hair grow more on belly and chest as they get older??????? |
Good Morning! We do not shave under the belly on either of of yorkies. We do groom them daily because they can get knotted under there quickly. The groomer does clip them around their privates.... to prevent what we call "hangers".   ....... which helps A LOT! :D |
beautiful!!! everyone, your babies are soooo beautiful!!!!!:) |
