Can you believe someone could be so cruel? This happened not so far from my house. I mean isn't it bad enough that they robbed the dang people but that was dirty stealing their yorkie. Cat burglar takes dog Cruel crook robs Qns. family of money, gems - even the pet pooch BY ROBERT F. MOORE DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER Little Deanna Tarantola, 2, is consoled by parents Diana and Steve, as she holds photo of beloved dog named Buddy. Pooch has been missing since break-in Saturday night. A crook who broke into a Queens home wasn't satisfied with the usual haul of cash, jewelry and electronics - he also stole the family's adored Yorkshire terrier. Now Diana Tarantola, 31, is trying to find the words to explain to her 2-year-old daughter that her pet, Buddy, may never come home. "I don't know what to tell her," Tarantola said of her toddler, Deanna. "She keeps asking about Buddy every time she sees something that reminds her of him." Tarantola and her husband were at a friend's birthday party Saturday night when someone climbed onto a deck and broke a window lock at their Middle Village home. The couple returned about 10 p.m. to an eerie silence. "We didn't hear the dog barking," she said. "My husband asked me if I left the dog outside." They searched their home and found their valuables, including family heirlooms, were gone. Their tenants on the ground floor of the two-story home also had been robbed of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry. But it was the loss of Buddy that hurt the most. "Keep everything else," Tarantola said, appealing to the dog thief. "Keep the money. Keep the jewelry." She offered a $500 reward for the pup's return. Investigators are sure the dog was stolen because the thief locked the window behind him when he left. Detectives are investigating whether the break-in is linked to six other crimes in the area, a police source said. Tarantola, a part-time assistant for JP Morgan Chase, just hopes the intruder has a heart. "I don't care how they do it," she said, staring at a picture of her daughter and Buddy, a 12-pound beige and gray pooch. "Just give us our dog back." |
Oh... That's horrible. I hope they get their Yorkie back. I would have said the same thing, keep everything else, just give me my Yorkie back. Rudys Mom (Dawn):animal-pa |

Those lowlifes are stooping to new lows stealing dogs - the prices of yorkies is prompting this and it's just so sad that these JERKS only see them as a way to get free money - they just suck. In the end - they'll get theirs :( I hope they return that poor scared yorkie back to his family |

How Awful................ |
What is the world coming to? When you have to worry about your beloved pets being stolen along with your monetary valuables? Greedy people..they will eventually get theirs! |
Can't imagine the hurt if someone stole my dog!!!!It seems that more and more people these days do not care or just being ignorant. It is bad enough robbing someone out of their jewelleries and material stuffs, but other's pet too? come on...what greedy people those robbers are. hope they get caught and put in jail. |

This happened a couple of days ago here in Reno: Reno Couple Asking for Help to Find Dog Missing After Break-In Feb 5, 2007 03:05 PM PST 13-year old Missy has been missing since Friday, Feburary 2nd. Reno residents Ron and Nancy Hoy say their home was broken into on Friday, February 2nd, and now a precious family member is missing. The Hoys say 13-year old Missy, a 3 1/2 pound Yorkie, was either taken or escaped during the break-in. The dog is on medication, has a special diet and has hip displacement. Missy is described as being black, tan and gray with black spots on her stomach and back. The couple is offering a $2,000 reward for Missy's safe return. Anyone with information is asked to contact Ron Hoy at 233-9553 or via email. Missy is a tiny yorkie, her picture is so cute! What is wrong with people? Do we all need to invest in home alarms to protect our pets? |
The same thing happened here in Brooklyn.....my son is NYPD and the family said they didn't care about anything else they just wanted their yorkie back.......(I'm a little on the paranoid side right now) |
