What do you think about this breeder?
 

I found this video on Youtube while searching random Yorkie videos. She sounds very nice but I guess she breeds for tinies because she mentioned the mom is 3 lbs, dad 2. The mom is just beautiful by the way isn't she? Well anyway what do you think?

I think she sounds like a really nice woman who really cares about her yorkies and their babies. BUT she is breeding tinies and uses the tiny, micro, tea cup words for marketing, as she said with Flea, since he is micro he will be expensive to buy.
I think she just needs to do some rethinking and more research on the tiny yorkies and the dangers of breeding tiny yorkies. Breeding a 3pound 6oz yorkie is just way too small to breed and very risky and dangerous. JMO.

There is a breeder not far from me who advertizes in the paper weekly. Her ad states she breeds nothing over 3 pounds and her litters run 4 to 5 pups per..most are 3 pound dams and 2 pound sire...I went to see these adults. There were no 3 pounds mothers..infact they were all a solid 4 1/2 to 5 pounds..the sire was small, but not 2 pounds, more in the 3 1/2...

Honestly, until I found this website I didn't know there was anything wrong with it. Cats and chihuahuas are small and they have babies, mice have babies, small people have babies.... I always thought that a very small dog would have probably just one puppy(maybe 2). A smaller dog has small, less puppies than a larger dog. Yes, I know that c sections are common in this case(but that's also the case with some 5 pounders and people). Repeated c sections are not good for anyone(people or dogs) so maybe that is a leading problem for smaller animals...since they come in heat so often.

I ran into a lady who has 3 very small yorkies and continually breeds them(3 pounders) and I'm guessing her vet didn't tell her she shouldn't? She has a total of 6 yorkies. I guess I have a problem with people making their living off of breeding any kind of dog. I saw one site where every female was 4 pounds or under. Isn't the standard 4 -7 pounds? But you shouldn't breed a 4 pound dog? It's confusing.

I'd rather a breeder have one litter or two in the dogs lifetime rather than repeatedly breed ANY dog but that's just my opinion.

LOL and people think WE are tough on people who breed tinies ?? (I read the comments) :D she was taking some flack ....and what the heck is an X Micro Yorkie ??? THOSE are the people that mislead people and jack up prices for puppies....I bet she charges quite a bit.

She does seem to care a lot about her dogs, but I would never be able to risk the life of my female that way if she was that small. :(

Mazie is three pounds, and I can't IMAGINE even THINKING about breeding her. She is soooo tiny and fragile. :(

Wow, first of all...I have to say that the fact that she made a VIDEO of them is really cool! I have never known a breeder to do that and post it on YouTube. It is neat because you actually get to SEE the puppies move around, and you can hear her talk, rather than e-mailing back and forth explaining everything (of course....there is always that little device called a telephone :p) hehe. BUT - The mom is super duper small. She shouldn't have purposefully bred her. And the whole thing about Teacups and Micro this blah blah blah doesn't bother me. IMO, it is just a way of describing the size of how small a puppy is going to be. It has NEVER bothered me. I know breeders use these terms to make more $$$ on their pups, and THAT isn't right - but honestly...just GENERALLY speaking, if I had a teeny tiny (see there, I just used THE WORDS! "teeny", "tiny" lol) I would too probably say, "oh he or she is tiny" meaning that she is LITTLE - NOT that she is a "special" KIND of Yorkie - I mean what the heck else do you say? lol. It's just describing their size. But anyway, I won't say anything more about that subject because I know alot of people get upset when those words are used/discussed ;) All in all I think she sounds like a super sweet lady and one who really loves her babies - but yes, the 3 lb pound mom definitely should of not been bred.

I've been hearing this term a lot latley X micro or micro mini which is the equivelant to a teaspoon and much smaller than the so called T-Cup. This is sad that they are so small.

Well she sounded great until she stated that the Xtra Micro would be an expensive little dog. Why would she put a price tag on a pup when its that small and you really don't know if it will thrive.:rolleyes:

I am actually talking to this lady for a few days now,.

she is wonderful! she answers all of my questions and is very straight-foward. and she really does take care of her dogs AND puppies

ALTHOUGH she is very high in price.. she told me the tiniest in her litter, depending on color and all that can go up to 4,500... wich I guess isn't that much.. but you can buy a used car for that price!

It seems the price (with this lady) becomes all about size. Not quality, just size with a hefty price tag. OUCH:eek: $4,500 could buy me a car, make some wonderful principal payments on my mortgage, hmmm, what else, pay down that high interest credit card. The list goes on and on. LOL
