Update on Royce the vet gave me the results for royce's bile acid test they are not normal they are slightly high he gave me 2 figures 13 and 25 they haveno clue what that means .he said we are in a gray area meaning that he might have a small liver shunt as he never showed clinical symptoms or it could be nothing wrong with his liver ..or anything else that's wrong with his liver ...ok when the vet called me and started talking and saying the results are slightly abnormal my mind went blank and that all what i remember from the conversation ....can anyone please give me more insight? Ps: im taking royce for an ultrasound in the next couple of days as the vet recommended ... Thanks everyone |
Cali's first Bile aicid results were 0/95 and then I retesting they were 0/35 or something close to that. Her liver ultrasound showed nothing and her liver biopsy showed a very mild internal shunt MVD. The specialists felt that it was so mild that it did not require treatment and I just keep her protein intake down to make it easier on her liver. The surgeon told me that usually she finds with scores under 100 the shunt is usually internal. I would try and get a specialist to help you figure out what is going on. It may very well be nothing and it will put your mind at ease. I hope that's the case. I will keep him in my prayers. |

The ultrasound will be performed by a specialist at the veterinary school |
the bile acid test has to be greater than 100 to be liver shunt. My friends yorkie had 30 and the vet had her all worried by saying it was abnormal but alright. he explained that it has tobe greater than 100. and told her to change his food to one that had less protein. |
