Don't Laugh Too Hard Sadie will only go to the bathroom outside. Lately, it has been windy and very cool when I take her for her last nightly walk. She shakes from being cold, and when she gets inside I tuck her inside my down comforter. Today I found a darling Trench coat and booties that fit her perfect. I know she will need these for our cold winters. Do any of you dress your dog up like this for winter? The neighbors will think I am totally crazy, but I can't stand to see her cold. What else could I do, if I don't clothe her? Opinions please. Kate |
These babies cool down fast so they need to be kept warm specially in winter, Chelsey has a padded jacket that i put on when its chilly outside, ive never tried the booties maybe someone else has on here? Dont worry what ur neigbours think or say, we do what we think is best for our little ones, ive been told "shes got hair to keep her warm" but i dont even bother wasting my energy to tell them why they need extra protection :) |
It's none of the neighbor's business if you want to dress your dog. You don't tell them how to dress their kids. You do what is best for your baby. I wish I could trade you weather though. It's 100 degrees here already. UGH! |
My grandmother had a toy poodle and when I was a kid we had to dress her up for the snow and I thought it was kind of silly - after having my little Cheri shake in HOUSTON when it's cold...she wears jammies...a coat and sweaters, when I know it's chilly, and she is the happiest girl wearing them - don't worry about what anyone says...there really is a reason to dress them and it's not just for cuteness ! and now I understand why my grandmother loved her little poodle and dressed her up...She was a good mom. |
I knitted Duncan a jumper for the winter and he has a little coat for cold wet days. Much better to be warm and dry than cold and wet. |
Being from Alaska and now New York (which is very cold in the winter with the wind blowing all the time) both of my dogs have coats, scarves, hats and booties. I would start practicing with the booties, it took me a long time to get them to calm down enough to wear them! And here they have to since they SALT everything!!! |
