Stairs or ramp ?? my moms bed is really high i dont like them jumping up there i know its gonna ruin there hips in the future which would be better to buy ?? |
I don't know, I am wondering the same thing  For the time being, we are just picking Stedman up and putting him on the bed with us - there is no WAY we'd let him jump up onto it, it is way too high for him. We did buy him a set of doggie stairs - and the little turd kept falling off of them  so I took them back :p I'll probably just continue picking him up and putting him on the bed myself, it's easier that way - and safer for him, he is just too small. |
I have a really really high bed too, and instead of a ramp or stairs, I got a bench for the end of my bed and Cooper and Carley now use that. Although, I miss that growly noise they used to do when they were ready to come up on the bed:p Now, they will also go upstairs and take a nap on "their" bed, now that they can get up there themselves. It is a really cool bench too, I got it for Christmas from Pier 1. Yes, I asked for a bench for Christmas for my dog's convenience:D |
i found these i thinking of getting there nice looking and really sturdy i could even stand on them ! http://www.bestpetramp.com/2-step-pet-stairs.htm i would need the 2 steps |
Mine can't jump on any of the beds, so my husband just bought what's needed to build them some stairs so they can get on and off our bed at will. |
Those are nice looking steps! |
i have something homemade... i have a upside down crate at the end of my bed, with sham thats matches my bed comforter and a towel inside the sham for thickness... its draped over the crate.. looks like its made to go together.. |
www.doggysteps.com has some inexpensive steps that are light and can be moved around easily from room to room. We got two of them, one for the couch and one for the bedroom. I didn't see it on the Web site, but I got the 4-step version, which is a little taller. I believe you can get something similar at Petco, Target and Wal-Mart. |
I think we're gonna go for a ramp, since Luna is so darned tiny and feels so fragile. I'm scared to death to let her jump on/off anything, and afraid that even steps would be too much for her to scale. Now I just gotta get hubby to build it. Build it and they will come:laugh: |
Ramp  ...I heard that a ramp it best for thier knees rather than steps that they have to constantly jump from one to the next  |
Have you seen these? Both stairs and ramp in one. They are made by Pet Studio called rampsteps. I am thinking about getting them for my three pups. http://www.demaineimage.com/shop/pop...f5cf376916a743 |
my dad built morgan a ramp for the bed since mine too is quite high. she goes up and down with no problems. There is a video of her doing it on my dropshots. http://www.dropshots.com/kalina82 in september :) |
We thought it over and decided on ramps. My hubby made some for our Yorkies. The run up and down these like crazy. I figured even with stairs, it is hard on their backs, knees and hips. The ramps are not jarring for them -- just a smooth sail up and down. |

the mirror puppy is her friend. She loves to play with her. She brings her toys over to the mirror and barks and paws at it as if to say 'come on lets play'. Its actually kind of sad because i really want to get another baby for her to play with. She loves playing with other dogs and she doesn't get to do that too often. She tried to play with my boyfriends cat but the cat really doesn't want to get too into it like a dog. |
