Yorkie Rescue Story to be on the Today Show on 1/26/07
 

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let eveyone know there is going to be a very heart warming story about a yorkie rescue/adoption on the Today show Tomorrow morning. The reason I know this is because the wonderful person that donated Babybear his wheelchair just adopted a yorkie from the Rolling Dog Ranch in Montana last week. This yorkie was kicked and beaten by a drunken man and a wonderful lady stopped him and took the yorkie away from this fool. She took this little girl Spirit is her name to the vets and then to RDR. My friend Nicci was looking for a new rescue baby after the loss of her parylized yorkie. She found RDR in Montana and it took a little time but she decide to adopt little Spirit. Spirit was paralyzed also from the beating that she took for this man and now she is in her forever home in Floridia with three sisters. It is a story that just touched my heart so much I want to share it with you all here. This story will take place between 7am and 9 am. Nicci said she was told that she is supposed to be in the 8:15 spot but there could be changes. I just hope you all get a chance to see this story. I'm in tears:cry: :cry: I am glad that she found a forever home. The ppl that got her are so blessed to have her. She is absolutely adorable.

On a different note..I don't even want to say what should be done to the man that did this to her. I hope he is paying for this. What a piece of sh*t! :mad:

well - I've read every dogs story on that site and what a wonderful place that is. I'm not well off financially - but if I were to donate I think I just found a new cause...:) :) :) thank you so much for posting that site. The people at the ranch are AWESOME - I really am touched by all I just read.

Thank you for posting that link. I have copied and pasted the one from my email thinking it would work. I guess I messed up some how. Thank you again for your help. once you get on the site it's hard to leave. When people think blind or handicapped dogs need to be put to sleep - this is JUST the kind of thing they need to see. I saved it in my contacts and will be sharing it. I hope they have all they need and wish I won the lottery cause I know just where I'd send a big chunk of money. :) It takes very special people to do what they do.

If I had the time and the money I would love to do something like this. I am trying to talk hubby into adopting another yorkie, but I want one that is disabled. Sound mean?? I hope not. I just know there are a lot out there that people do not want or have put down. I have Babybear which he is paralyzed still and he has his cart so it wouldn't take much to take care of two well maybe even three, but I won't push that right now.lol One right now would be great to add to Babybear so he knows he isn't the only one that can't walk right. And they are so lovable. I think it is their way of showing us that they are thankful for what we have done for them. I get so much joy every day with Babybear and his loving and his kissing. He is such a love furchild. I know what makes these people want to do this for these animals. I know the reward they get everyday just seeing these babies alive. I live it every day with Babybear.

It's wonderful to know there are angels among us. I will certainly watch this in the morning.

I hope I remember to watch it...we usually watch the today show...but everytime I mean to watch something important I always forget lol...

OH MY GOSH...I just read the story on the website and tears are streaming down my face. What a wonderful place that is to rehab all of those poor mistreated animals. It's heartwarming to know there are animal saviors out there who dedicate their lives to the cause.

I have the Today show on now hoping to catch it before I have to leave for work. I will read the story once I get to work.

OMG it's WONDERFUL !! They showed the blind dogs playing - the handicapped dogs....the weiner dog and SPIRIT in her cool little wheelchair......What fantastic people they are - Thanks so much for this thread -

Oh, it is so heartwarming to see people do this for animals. They just showed Little Spirit running down the driveway in her little cart, how cute. This is also a very special lady to adopt her. She looks very happy and content sittng there in the ladys lap in her ittle outfit. My first rescue yorkie I personally took from an abusive home but this thread is about Spirit and she is one lucky happy dog now. Kleenex please!!!!. God bless the angels who look over our furry friends. These people are heaven sent.

And I read the website about this ranch.
I hope the original owner of Sprit was charged with animal abuse!!!
Personally I think we should kick him until he is paralyzed!!!

I set tivo to record it and just found and watched the Today show clip. What a cool thing that couple is doing!

I just loved the outfit that Spirit was wearing. What a great ting they did for this poor little girl. I am glad that she has a loving family to spend the rest of her days with. And the couple that run the ranch have hearts of gold to care for so many unwanted pets.

I just watched it on line. What a sweet baby Spirit is. And what a wonderful place for those animals. Made me well up too.

You are all welcome. I am just glad I had a chance to get this up before the show aired. And Spirit's sisters that she now lives with are all special needs babies also. Nicci and Glen are the best people to love this little special babies. And they will be a big part of our heart for helping us get Babybear's cart. If memorie serves me right I believe all the sisters are in carts. I am so glad I had a chance to share this with all you yorkie lovers. If I every hear of another story I will forward it to you here.
