Need Help from any San Antonio Area Yorkie Talkers Fellow Texans, We are planning on going on vacation to San Antonio from June 3 through June 12th. Originally, we were going to have a friend come over and sit with our puppies, but that may not work out, so they may be coming with us. My questions is does anyone know any nice dog-friendly hotels with suite-type rooms (like residence inn or something). Also, are there any dog friendly places to visit and see there. Is there a doggie daycare in the area that we could take the pups to when out at SeaWorld and Schlitterbahn? Any info would be greatly appreciated. |
This isn't going to be much help, but can tell you that the Seaworld's located in Orlando and San Diego have kennels on site, perhaps Texas does too. |
Here's a few links that may be helpfull... www.pets-allowed-hotels.com www.petsonthego.com www.letsgopets.com |
La Quintas usually all allow pets without a pet deposit. In my experience a lot of places that say they are pet friendly are only pet friendly because they charge a deposit or an extra fee for them, so make sure you ask up front if they have any fees. Also a lot of hotels that require a credit card to make a reservation will charge you a fee if they find anything messed up at all. My sister and I have traveled a lot with our two Maltese (this was pre Yorkie days) and we found that only a few hotels would allow more than one dog in the room. We had a hard time finding hotels that allowed more than one dog (even teeny ones like our two) in the room. Anyways, here are a few more sites for you to check out: http://www.pettravel.com http://www.petswelcome.com/ http://www.dogfriendly.com/ |
Doggie Friendly I am from Brownsville, but San Antonio is my second home!!!! I travel with both of my Yorkies and manage to have a great time. We always stay at the Best Western off of I-10 and Wurzbac. Very economical and clean. They tend to charge a small fee during peak season though, not much. Seaworld does have a doggie daycare. I do not know about Fiesta Texas. I hope this helps!!!! |
I don't but have a great trip ! |
You can call around and ask hotels if they pet friendly...we have found that most places are, without evening knowing it...you just need to ask...usually there is a deposit but it is not that bad....we have done it several times... One thing we did while at a graduation...was while we were at the actually graduation, we had the girls groomed at a Petsmart, so that they would be with other dogs and not left alone in the room...that way they had someone to watch them and keep them safe...it is just a thought...and even if you don't need a grooming you can just get a bath or something....it worked for us...maybe it will for you!!! |
Thanks Thanks for all the different and great suggestions guys. I will definately look into many of them. I never thought about SeaWorld having an onsite daycare or about taking them in to get groomed while out somewhere. Also, I never knew there were specific sites about traveling with your pet, but I guess I should've known -- my hubby's motto is "you can find anything on the internet". :D LOL. I am going to check into a few motels, and even call the one we originally planned to stay at and see if they allow pets (because they just might). Thanks again to everyone. |
Studio 6 is set up in that style and they are owned by Motel 6 the ones I saw were very nice. Angie |
