You have got to be KIDDING ME!! The other day I found a place close to me to bring Howie to daycare. I was so happy that I finally saw somewhere close enough to home that it wasn't an inconvenience and reasonably priced.... Well, I just called them and they said they would put me on a WAITING LIST!!! Are you kidding me? Is this common? I'm kind of annoyed by this! |
Wow a waiting list for doggfie day care. It sounds to me like that is the business to be in. |
Sounds to me like you have a golden opportunity to open a competing business. Big $$$ in it! |

I've been on a waiting list for doggie daycare before too. Yep, it really happens but I think of it as a good thing, at least you know they aren't taking in too many and not giving them individual attention. |

before opening up a doggie day care don't you need to buy a liscence or something? no requirements? |
YT has such entrepreneurs! It never occured to me to open one. And the kicker, is when I asked the receptionist when I could expect to be off the waiting list she told me she had no idea. Sigh.. all I want is for my baby to have some doggies to play with! |
The daycare Seanna is in won't let them play with other dogs unless they are family...they do get one on one play time with the staff throughout the day. You may want to ask how they do their playtime. Maybe you can find some people to do a meet up or something. Angie |

but it sounds like it is getting to be big business. |
The problem with just anyone running them is that they might not have a training background. You want to make sure it's run by someone who knows how to make sure the dogs will get along. You have to have a business license, but you don't have to be certified in anything. Anyone could open one. Just do your research before sending your dog there! Make sure that they know what a dog looks like when it wants to play and what it looks like when it wants to eat your Yorkie for lunch. Loki plays with big dogs, but NICE big dogs... |

I think you'll need a bit more than that to open a business like that in a residential neighborhood. Zoning Rules and regulations are probably quite strict and you'll need LOTS of insurance. |
