According to Yoda Time... So I was on the way home today, when Yoda's Mommy calls me. She tells me that Yoda is sitting on the top of the stairs (where I come up from the garage when I get home) just WAITING for me. And he knew exactly the right time too, as I was just 5 minutes from home at that point. It gave me a warm tingling feeling as I was driving home because it was so sweet. When I got home, Yoda rushed down the stairs at full Yorkie speed and gave me tons and tons of wet licks like he hadn't seen me in days (of course I saw him this morning before I left for work!). The last time Yoda waited like this was when I was gone for 4 days on a business trip. He'd just sit at the top of the stairs and just wait... It was so sad then... At least it's happier today! Yoda sure loves his Daddy! :D |
Ahhhhh! That is sooo sweet! He does wuv his daddy!! |
That is so sweet! What a little lover you have! |
Don't it make you feel sooo good . My hubby and i fight over our yorkies. llol. The big ham just loves them. |
That is so sweet! :luvu: |
That is the best part of my day... when we come home to each other and they are patiently waiting for us! It just breaks my heart! |
That is sweet. It's one thing when they hear you but how do they know when you're five minutes away? It's amazing. |
Do you say "who's your Daddy"????? hahaha Mya is a Daddy's Girl. Yep, I spend hours a day with her and she cries for him. It is so sweet that Mya puts a BIG smile on his face, makes him laugh and makes him feel loved. It has been 10 months since my husband's sister passed away, I have not seen him so happy in such a long time. Dogs are wonderful !!!!!!!!!! and I think that Puppy breath is magic *grin* Regards, Cyn Driving the grammatically correct insane, one posting at a time. |
Awwwww Yoda wuvs his daddy!!!!!!!! :p |
It is one of the greatest feeling. I wonder sometimes if they know how many times in a day they make us smile |
No doubt about it...Yoda loves his daddy! Glad you got a warm feeling from him after a day at work! So sweet! It's so cute how they smother one with puppy kisses upon our return...as if it's been weeks since they last saw us! LOL |
Unconditional Love--Priceless |
How cute! It definitely feels great to come home and know that you mean the world to these little guys and gals! And of course they mean the world to us too! |
It totally amazes me how they just know what time to start their watch ! Mine do this and no matter where I am or what time I come home they know to get on watch patrol....It's like they eavesdrop on the phone conversations or something - We tested them once and no calls were made - they KNEW and still waited at just the right time....They only do this with me - not my hubby - which I don't understand.... but I look at it like it's really LOVE when they can sense us coming home - You've got one IN TUNE litttle Yoda there who really has a bond with you ! |
With Mia, it can go either way. She'll hear the garage door open when we get home. Either she's waiting for us at the door all excited to see us OR she will stay on the couch until we go give her some kisses. I guess it depends on her mood. What a personality she has, gotta love her :) |
Fast eddie, you've got a bond with Yoda that nothing can sever. Don't that give you chills! Shelley, your quote brought tears to my eyes. It's funny, but when I meet a person who doesn't love animals, they have to work extra hard to earn my trust. And some never do. |
Iheartyorkies - I'm the same way as you. I wish more people were like us. It makes me think of this dog that lives close to my house. He's outside ALL of the time. He does have a dog house, food and water, but every time I go by that house, it brings tears to my eyes to see this dog's head hanging out of his dog house, alone and bored. Of course I go by that house at least 3 times a day, so I always look. Then I saw that the dog's owners were having a yard sale, so there was my chance to go see that dog (he must be part German Sheppard and I don't know what else). When I started talking to the owner, she said that her 3 year old "Marshall" has been outside ever since he was a pup cuz he chewed on the Lazy Boy recliner thing (hello?? What do puppies do?). I asked her if she brings him inside when it's raining really hard or when it's like minus 30 degrees Celcius outside and she said, no. This woman weighs like 400 pounds, so I knew she never brought him out for walks. I asked her if the dog likes to go for walks (I thought maybe I could bring him for walks) and she said, I don't know, my husband brought him once. Ahhhhhh, I was so upset. I told her that my dog Mia had some treats at home that she did not like and I could bring those to her (I wanted to come see the dog again). Of course, this dog is not trained at all. He does not know his sits or downs. When I got home, I was so upset that I told my husband I was going to ask her if she wanted to sell me the dog so I could bring him to the SPCA. At least there he would have a chance to find a good loving home (they do not put the dogs to sleep unless they are sick of agressive beyond repair). I e-mailed the SPCA, but they said it's not considered neglect cuz the dog does have shelter, food and water. I think this is my only chance of getting him out of there. I don't care what I have to pay for him. Any advice??? |
Have you thought about asking them for Marshall. Sounds to me like he may turn out to be one great babysitter. |
Yoda's got a Mastiff dog size heart for sure!!! ;) |
Tiny loves his Daddy too b/c his Daddy works the graveyard shift and is home with him all day. When I get home, I want Tiny to cuddle with me but he'd rather lay down near Daddy's butt while he's on the computer. It's so cute especially to see a macho man handling or petting a dainty little yorkie :aimeeyork |
Shelley, there's not a whole lot you can do unless you offer to buy the dog from your neighbor and either give it a home yourself or find a home for it. I know it's hard to believe but technically it's not being abused for the reasons the SPCA quoted. They don't consider emotional neglect as abuse (probably because it's too hard to measure). There are many many large dogs in the same situation. I too have never agreed with people who buy a cute little puppy and enjoy it till it gets too big or fiesty, then don't bother to train the poor thing, and chain it outside where it spends the rest of it's life. Usually with little human contact. Probably the best thing you can do is ask permission to bring treats to the dog and spend a little while playing with it every so often. I promise you the dog will remember you and love you for it. Good luck. |
