Flea protection for young baby in So. Cal OK, I'm in Southern California, and my baby is just 4 months old. She has never had any kind of flea protection, so I'm wondering when I need to get her some. I have heard that the K9 Advantix is the one to go with out here, what do you all think? And can I do it myself, or should I have the vet do it? |
Please don't start putting those horrible chemicals on your little fur-baby. Go the Holistic way. Get Dr. Pitcairn's complete guide to NATURAL HEALTH FOR DOGS & CATS. He lists lots of ways to keep fleas off your dog or cat, what to feed, and how to cure different things that can go wrong. Plus lots of great recipes. |
at four months old your baby is old enough for flea treatment. you can try holistic methods but as a tech i've found that it matters on what area of the country you live in and wether you live a more wooded area or a city area. All the vet's i've worked with recommend frontline plus. They make a puppy formula. Frontline has been the most effective in my observations so far. |
you can use euculyptysus oil the fleas dont like it, you can use on dogs not cats. I only use flea stuff may through sept where I live. |
Advantage has always worked best for us...you can do it easily yourself too!! Dawn |
I'm in Los Angeles. :p I use Advantage as well but not every month of the year. I mostly use it durirng the summer when fleas become a problem. I would also use it if I went to the dog park or somewhere alot of dogs will be, like obidence classes. Hope I helped..:p |
