dog Registry ok PepperAnn is both AKC and CKC reg. what about all these other registries like NKC, ACA...etc etc there are a bunch out there is it worth it. i went to some of there websites and they seem to pretty much just take your previous reg (example AKC) and copy and charge you for there piece of paper.... so say that i register pepper with all these other associations and reg her litter of pups.. then does it make them more valuable being registered to say 5 different kennel clubs wow then the forsale ad for the puppies would be like : for sale yorkie pups AKC, CKC, NKC, ACA, APRI REG.... HMMMMMMM..... i AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE OTHER CLUBS BUT AKC AND CKC... just wondering................ |
registry input ?? |
If she is AKC registered, that is the reputable bona fide registry there is for the US. If you mean CKC Continental Kennel Club, it means nothing and AKC would not recognize it or any of the others if she were not already AKC registered. CKC Canadian Kennel Club is the Canadian bona fide purebred dog registry for Canada. AKC will recognize a Canadian Kennel Club registered dog and will register it AKC and here in Canada if I am getting a dog from the US, Canadian Kennel Club will register it if it is AKC registered but do not recognize any of the other registries. Hope that helps. |
I think that some people would pay extra for multiple registers, but I personally don't think they are worth more money. Like you said other registerys just take a copy of their paper and you pay the fee and get the other register. But people that don't know this will think that they are really getting something special. I have heard people say that their dog is worth more money because he is double registered.... |

I am in Canada so mine are registered here with the Canadian Kennel Club. If I sell one to the US it can be AKC registered although if going for a pet which it would be spayed/neutered first, it wouldn't matter if the owner bothered with AKC papers. If it was going for show purposes, it would be AKC registered by the new owner submitting the Canadian Kennel Club papers to the AKC so they could show the dog and use it in their breeding program. |
