4 Attachment(s) We got Piper when she was 13 weeks. She is a Yorkie & Maltese mix. When we ordered her via on line she looked very healthy. The breeder told me she would be flying her into our town in about a month. She was having a nanny bring her. Never happened. She flew into another airport 3 hours away. She was full of poop in her crate from the long flight. After tending to her & giving water & nutrical we started our 3 hour journey home. After bathing her I could see she was undernourished. Got her into the vet right away. She had cocidia, giardia, upper respiratory infection. She weighted only 1.3 at the vet at 13 weeks. The breeder said she was just small & would stay that way & she was finicky. HA! After 3 weeks on Meds and over $300 in vet bills, she was fine. At least I thought so. Now we are dealing with her liver. Another $500 so far into her. She now weighs 6.6 lbs or so. My husband wanted a morkie, because of the coloring. We love her to death & wouldn't change her for anything, & I also know this could happen buying a full breed. I just say now when buying a dog, word of mouth is the best way to find a good breeder. |

When I was with one of the Yorkie Rescues, I flew Gabriel, along with 5 other Yorkies, from TX. to CA. as I had some wonderful families looking for a rescue Yorkie and at that time we had none in CA. Gabe however was a little surprise for me as he didn't have the Yorkie look, he was a senior with tons of medical problems and I didn't know if he was even going to live. The lady who adopted him ended up having brain surgery and gave him back to us. I had a volunteer take him in which I thought would take really good care of him. I did a house call on her and found Gabe tightly curled up laying in a corner of an empty bedroom on just a thin receiving blanket shivering. He was so sick he couldn't even hold his head up. I took him home with me, took him to my vet. carried him in a little sling up against my heart, sang to him, gave him tiny bits of baby food finger sticks, peanut butter, baby food meats and Kix cereal. It took a long time to get him back to health and was adopted by a wonderful lady in Newport Beach, CA. which I'm proud to say is my friend. She had a male Yorkie named Rudy who she thought needed a brother. She was the best mom to Gabe that I could have ever dreamed of finding. She had Gabe for two years before he passed away. He touched everyone who met him in a very heavenly way. I always said he was an angel sent her to touch a lot of souls, and he sure did. You would not have believed all the people who cried their hearts out when he passed away. Meet Gabriel and Rudy. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...abrielRudy.jpg |
