fontanel and a topknot If any of you have babies with fontanels, do they also have topknots? Adie's fontanel is right where the topknot would go but I'm afraid to let her hair grow and put one in. What do you do? Could you post pictures? Thanks |
Anyone? |
Im not sure what you are talking about. Mine wear topknots, I use the little girl bands that have material around them. I can put them in each am and take them out at night. |
My new baby has a soft spot. However, her hair is way to thin in that area so I can't put a topknot in. It's a very small spot so when she does get enough hair I'll staring putting bows in. |

the soft spot where the sections of the skull have not fused closed. newborns have it so their head can fit through the birth canel. |
THanks for the definition JeanieK, Adie's fontanel seems to be growing with her. She is 8mo old now and it is just as big as ever. It doesn't bother her and as a rule I'm not worried about hit but I wonder if it is a good idea or not to put her hair in a topknot. I'm just seeking the advice of anyone else who has the same issue. Thanks. |
My Sunshine has a fontanel....I put bows in her hair when she will let me....The topknot I do not know how to do YET..... Sunshine is in my avatar!!! |
Sibelle have an open fontanel and I place bow in her hair . I never had trouble with it . |
I would think you could still do a topknot just be careful which I am sure you are anyways. Hopefully some one with knowledge will answer your post. Which isn't me sorry .. |

I think I will let her hair grow out so she can wear ribbons. I could put them at the base of her ears as well as in the middle. Thanks everyone |

Hey!!!!! I pulled Adie's hair into a topknot albeit a short one, and she left it alone! :yay_jump: She didn't even seem to notice it once I got it in. The hair is still too short to really do a good job but she looked cute anyway. I thought I was going to have a really hard time with her because she hates brushing so much but I've been playing with the hair on the top of her head a lot in hopes that it would desensitize her. I guess it did. Oh, it wasn't easy but it was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be! My shih tzu used to rub the top of her head on everything so her topknot only looked good for about 45 seconds. I finally gave up and keep her in a puppy cut now. THanks for the input everyone. L0u |
