Should I really get ANOTHER yorkie?? Ok as some of you may already know I had posted a while back that I had already put a deposit down for a little girl "Blaire", but I am really starting to think if I can really have two.....its enough I spend alot of money on Bailey (and I don't even work) and I know if I would get a little girl I would spend EVEN MORE especially with all the cute girl stuff out, so I was thinking maybe I shouldn't get Blaire because thats money that could go towards something else, I'm not saying that I couldn't afford her its just simply I know if I get her I will be buying things here and there for her AND Bailey. I don't know what I should do and my husbands says I should definetly wait but he supports me if I want another one and this is the exact look he gives me  LOL the lady did agree to refund me my deposit if I deceide to not take her. Lastly everthing was perfect in the parents of the little girl I just didn't like the color of the sire all that much so that was my first reason to not get her being that I am spending $1600 for her I DEFINETLY wanted to get what a want but the lady assured me that the puppies will mostly stay black and tan but looking at the sire I was unsure because of the blue he had in his face a little, but any hoo do ya'll have any suggestions or comments? |
Maybe you are just having new baby nerves?? I know the feeling. I have been looking fto add a female 1 year or so to my family and I keep going back and forth. But if you think she is what you are looking for maybe you should go for it. |
If I were having these thoughts when searching for a furbaby, I would wait. If you are a little nervous about the looks of the sire, what if the puppy ends up looking just like the sire? There really is no definate way a breeder can tell you what a puppy will look like when grown. $1600 is a lot, what if he ends up not looking like what you hoped? If that really doesn't matter then forget that issue. Maybe now isn't the right time if you are having second thoughts, then again maybe it is new baby nerves. I think you will know for sure in your heart if you really want this puppy. The moment I seen Lily and her parents I knew she was exactly what I wanted, no second thoughts, I had to have her , and I had looked at a lot of yorkie pups elsewhere and had never had that feeling. Have you looked at others or is the first one you found, if you haven't maybe you should, you might find another that is exactly what you want. Good luck. |
This is called "buyer's remorse" in the sales world. We all like to second guess our decisions, especially when a lot of money (now and in the future) is involved. No one else can know what decision is best for you. I think it is even harder with a puppy, because you put down the deposit and then have to wait. Too much time to reconsider back and forth. I did a little of that with my little girl. I knew I wanted her and the parents were both gorgeous. But she was bigger than my male and had longer legs. I worried she was not going to look right -- but she had the prettiest little face. I did buy her and she looks great. She is longer legged than my male, but she is just a larger Yorkie than him, as it should be if I ever get to breed them. I am so glad I got her! If you are seriously worried about the puppy not being the ONE you want, maybe you should delay this. But, even if you get a puppy with perfect mom and dad faces, she could still wind up with a dark area. Many wind up keeping some dark on the face, and although it is a show fault, it doesn't take away from their pet value. If you are just concerned because it is a lot of money and you can afford it fine, then I would not worry. What I would worry about though is ... if it is not a mutual decision between you and your husband, it could be a sore spot forever. Course these little babies sure have a way of winning the men over! I am no help at all, am I? Sorry..... Good luck! Just be sure! |
